Why do people think they can just do whatever they want. Can't they read the signs?
I hate it when I'm in the grocery store standing in the 10 item or less Isle and someone in front of me has like 30 things in there cart. Then when they get to the check out Lady they act like they didn't know. So of course since they already there they let them go.I just give them a dirty look.. The other thing is when you go to Walmart and the have the "Enter and Exit Doors" only course some one comes out of the store and the doors are open don't mean for you to go in that way.
It's like driving against traffic. And last but not least, people that park in the handicap spaces and say"I just be a second" Some handicap person might just pull up and also just be a second. So what's your complaint on this sunny Sunday morning

Most people are just too busy or too in a hurry to think that they are making it worse for other people by blocking up 10 items or less signs, or that an actually handicapped person may need the parking space they took because they were in a hurry. I think this speaks for society as a whole and how we are becoming more in a rush andcare less about people we dont know. I know there are people who are the exact opposite but this shift becomes mor and more lcear every year.

I know what you mean; it can really be annoying. It's like people don't read signs anymore, or totally disregarding them. I think people need to be more sensitive towards all these signs and to respect them for what it is.
For me, I've seen on the local subway here; there will be signs for priority seats and the signs showed that they are meant for elderly, pregnant ladies and the needy, basically. But people whom do not fit that category would still sit away and I can see a pregnant lady standing. I just shake my head to that, totally..

If I had to sit in a reserved seat I would get up for elderly and pregnant woman.

Single individuals going to family restrooms. I cannot stand having to wait to go to the family room with a BOY when there is a single person in it. I don't like people looking at me just because my child is having a melt down. I don't like going through 10 items or less isle when people cannot read or count. I don't like having to tell my daughter she can't do something because I can't let our son do it. I hate drivers who can't read the road signs and don't know where they are going. I hate people who drive through parking lots like it is a road race.

Hello missybear
Im right there with you girl. I have seen handicap cars park in the other spots and have to walk a ways with their walker just because of some guy didn't want to walk that far into the store. I think that those 10-20 item less signs are a joke. Every time I have that limit amount and in a hurry there is not one open or like you said someone is already there with 50 items..LOL..I don't know why they post these signs anyways. They don't mean nothing to other people. Have a great day and keep smiling my friend.

Hi rosepedal64, it's sad that lots of people don't care about others.

You know if only one person a day would change their attitude toward others, it would change the world. I guess though this is just wishful thinking on my part. Have a great day my friend.

I want to thank you for BR. That was very kind and sweet. I try to respond from my heart on subjects. I find that if you are nice and friendly to people the response will be well worth it. I think that you are kind and wonderful person. Keep up the good work and once again Thank You. Keep smiling my friend.

Hi Ms. MB,
Aside from what you've shared and experience, there were instances when a physically challenged woman needs to use the bathroom-- the cubicle for the handicapp with an icon of a "wheelchair" it is locked. After a while a NOT HANDICAP lady came out of the cubicle... i was so irritated then. There are so many cubicales for people like her still she opted to use the one for the handicap and the handicap woman waited for her turn. Another observation and complain--peoople especially in the grocery and in taking a ride where there is a need to fall in line-- people will always tend to overtake and if you check on them they'll let you feel that what they do is right.

I have to admit I used the handicap restroom once or twice myself and now that you mention it I was wrong to do so myself.

It's okay my dear. I am happy that you're humble enough to admit your it. At least we will be more conscious and sensitive with our actions in the future.

That's the way it should be. I think there is not enough police around here to worry about things like that

hi missybear people talking loudly on the cellphone while also sitting on the toilet in a pu blic restroom. I several times answered as I thought the idiot was calling to me, only to hear'her say, oh Joan some old lady is talking to herself, grrrr.
So much for that. then there are the ones walking and talking and not paying a bit of attention. I got run into by one man who was too busy talking to watch where he was walking, and he knocked me to my knees outside my favorite restaurant. He went right on walking and talking, while the others helped me to my
feet. they insisted on taking me back into the cafe and getting
'me some coffee. One even managed to find some bandaids and put them on my cut knees.

Agh the 10 items or less thing is a huge pet peeve of mine! I usually will run to wal-mart for just a few items and hate having to wait in line for just a few items so I go to the express lanes and it drives me NUTS to see people in front of me with carts filled and the cashiers not even caring. What is the point of an exress lane if you aren't going to inforce it and I still have to wait 20 minutes in line for my 5 items?!!?

The cashiers should sent them to a different line but you're right most of yhe time they don't care either.

Hey missy! I agree with all of your complaints! People just
don't care about other people and if they think they can get
away with something then they do! I can't tell you how annoying
it is to see how people try to get away with stuff like that
when they know damn well that they are in a line that says
"10 items or less". But, in the stores that I go to they won't
get away with it! Because where I live the people in the line
won't let them! I guess us New Yorkers don't stand for as much
crap as you Las Vegas people do! You just don't know how many
angry people we have here! They will just about get ready to
drop their stuff and get ready for a real "throw down"! It doesn't
take much to start a fight around here so you really have to
watch out because some of the people are really nuts and will
start an all out brawl over anything, especially parking spaces!

I'm too nice I think at times. I wanna say something but I usually don't. But when I had enough you better watch out. It doesn't happen a lot but don't pee me off.
Nice hearing from you Opal

Hello,
People I noticed are just plain rude these days, and some thinks they don't have to obey the rules and laws etc, that is why now a days they are giving out fines and sitations or you can even get jailed for these kind of rules/ laws people are breaking, it may seem so small and simple to some that don't care, but to your life and pockets it can mean a big thing, when you are jailed or have to pay a huge fine. Happy My Lotting!

the issue on handicap signs not followed does not happen only in supermarkets, it happens almost everywhere. what makes the situation worst for persons with disablities is the fact that the issue of "accessibility" is not well undertood by everyone, maybe because most of us take our "completeness" for granted. we have not really felt the pain these people are feeling when they are overlooked. It would be sad if these inequalities happen in government facilities and worse, hospitals. Just imagine a person with disability cannot file a complaint against an establishment because the government building handling the complaints is in itself inaccessible. Whew!

well i havent been to wal-mart yet this morning but im going in a few minutes and i just know i'll find something about that store, but i do have 1 this time of year, when all the northerners come down for the season which started last week they treat them like their idiots well some all but most are ok, last week i was checking out and the bitcJ behind the counter was treating me like im from mars so i told her im a florida native and live in this town and she better straighten up because if she thinks a complant to the manager and 500 bucks in his pocket wont put her on the bread line she better think again and lose the attitude then i asked her how long she's been in florida with that Massachusetts accent she told me a year. well she's no longer working there and it didnt cost a penny. they dont wanna screw with me.

Hi missybear,
Just stumbled across this 3 month old discussion. I can so so relate to getting behind someone in the express lane that has 30 some odd items!! I just would feel like such a jerk. Heck, just last week I did a quick count of my items before entering the express that said 14 items or less. I counted 14. As I'm putting them up on the counter, I realize that I forgot the bread, and 2 packages of english muffins in the little seat area so ultimately I had 17 items. I felt bad and appologized to the clerk and the lady behind me. They both kind of laughed but still....way way more and that is just being inconsiderate. Handicapped parking: I would not do it, could not do it. Even if there are 10 blank handicapped spots, I won't do it. The fines are outrageous and it is just not a nice thing to do. Umm...exiting the enter door or entering the exit door....I am so guilty. I don't mean to do that but I do it all the time. I honestly don't even notice unless someone (usually my daughter) points it out. I will say on my behalf that if I see people coming in a certain door, It is kind of a signal not to migrate to that particular door.

Now that I have to park in handicapped parking spots it does irritate me when they are all full especially if a fancy sports car is parked in one with a tag hanging off of the mirror. I have actually watched young healthy people pop back into these cars and go off on their merry way. Obviously it was their grandmothers tag. it makes me upset since I have trouble walking and will just not go to that store if I have to walk too much just to get inside.

You can actually buy fake handicap signs and hang them in your window
