I could smile if i do remember the moments during my childhood days, i really miss those times when our barangay would have a disco, or what we call here in province as bayle... that was very fun, me and my sister would scape from our house at night just to attend the disco which was fenced with coconut leaves that were brushed with black grease so that no one could enter freely...since our parents don't allow us to go, we would just escape without money for the entrance fee, and just passed the greased coco leaves and dance all night with some of our childhood friends not bothering of our greased dresses...i really missed those days...how about you?

Believe it or not but I created tunnels and caves out of mud. When they dried up, I rolled my marbles through the spirals. I had my elder sister with me and my two kid brothers, and a whole bunch of cousins. We were irrepressible! When lunch is served on a long, rough wooden table underneath the house, we would become ecstatic with food. One time, we didn't know what we were eating till we realized it was country frogs. Sure taste more delicious than chicken. But of course I never did eat that again. Childhood was a time in life I was happy about. I even took baths under the heavy rain.

LOL well seeing how my childhood was a horrible one there really isnt anything I miss..except the chance to be a happy, safe child.... there are some things from my teen years that I miss though in spite of the fact that it was rough, there were some really good times too and some ppl that I'd love to find but would have no clue how to go about it..

I missed the Christmas caroling in the neighborhood with my friends. Every Christmas eve me and my childhood friends used to roam around the town singing Christmas songs in return of "kakanin"which we feasted right before 5:00am near the seaside. We had so much fun then with no complication. I missed my life in the farm too which I used to live with my parents. I missed the day when I had to run around the rice field and chased every bird I saw. I missed the streams, river and valleys which I used to visit when I want to hide from my mother. The peaceful afternoon and the exciting morning plus the silvery thread of the moonlight at night. Those where the most wonderful part of my existence.

Hi xannebull, I lived half my life in the province too, and I exactly know when you talk about "bayle", we call it "benefit dance" in my town. I never participated in any of the dances, but I go there to watch my friends. It actually became a venue for meeting old and new friends. What I miss most about my childhood is swimming in the river, my friends go there every weekend. The river, oh the river was crystal clear, we can even see creatures like fishes, crabs and shrimps creeping under the stones. On the way to the river we pass by a plantation of pineapples and guavas, and we pick fruits along the way, which we brought home after swimming. The owners back then just allowed us to get their produce, the only rule is get their permission. These days everything had to be bought, nothing is free anymore.

Funny that we both have the same story. Attending those forbidden disco was so fun and exciting. I'm not a good dancer but you can find me in disco places. And the most exciting is escaping from our house without getting noticed by my parent's. I have to lock the door of my room and go through the window.

What I miss the most from my childhood is the time I spent with my grandmother. She was a truely wonderful woman . I want to be the same kind of grandma to my grandbabies. My mom worked a lot of long hours and when she was working i stayed with Grandma Mattie. I miss her so bad. And of course the hanging out with the friends is missed as well.

What I miss from my childhood... Well, I miss my grandparents and spending summers in Europe with my relatives, cherish those memories more than anything. Also all the traveling we used to do as a family. I miss the lack of responsibility & worries of being a kid. Back then the most stressful part of your day would be what you were going to eat for dinner, or if you should do your homework before dinner? It sounds like you have some very special memories of your own.
