Torrents are best for downloading files IMO. Especially if they are big and downloading 10 parts over the rapishare is pretty annoying. Are you familiar with torrents? Do you use them? What client do you use? Do you use private trackers?
I liked some features in bitcomet client but it's pretty heavy on memory usage and I had problems with it suffocating my bandwidth so I started using more popular utorrent. I'm happy with it but some options that I used are missing or at least I didn't figure out how to get them. Using private trackers is not an option for me cause my upload speed is pretty miserable right now and I'm happy with public anyway.

I'm not using that , my friend. Although I am familiar with down loader I can't use it. Limewire, uttorent, bittorent, torrents are all virus carrier. Those downloader have more possibilities of infected us from virus...If i want to watch and listen videos I will go to youtube where you can choose more...

Not really. You just have to spend one second to look if target torrent is verified by the community and you won't catch any virus. But if you prefer to limit yourself with low quality videos that's your call...and what about other non-audio/video files?

I know about sites like that. Or a site with serials and keys...you just load it and get 10 viruses and spywares in 10 seconds no matter how good is your antivirus/firewall. But the most popular torrent sites are verified by huge community and it's really safe.

I download movies, songs and softwares using torrents. I use utorrent. I have never checked up on any other client as this one serves me pretty good. Neither have I used private trackers. Like you, I cannot upload much, so I cannot use private trackers because they requires seeding.

Thanks. That works but needs a little extra time. They should've made this faster and less complicated

i download all my stuff from thepiratebay.org and i use vuze as the bit torrent client it works pretty good and downloads fairly fast. it also has its own videos that you can download. which bit torrent client are you using now. i used to use azureus ( i think i spelled that wrong) but it was not as good as it used to be became a little to confusing vuze is user friendly.

I love torrents and I also use utorrent. It's a fast way to download things specially when there are many seeders and few leechers

I asked this question before I got his reply. It pretty much answered the problem

I think sagnik's suggestion is the only way to go to solve your problem. I know it's time consuming and somewhat complicated but that's just how it is or maybe there is still something we don't know about utorrent

Yes, rapidshare is pretty annoying for large files. I have been downloading using torrents for a considerable time and I find bitcomet is particularly good at doing this. But of course, this also consumes a good part of your speed and so you get less speed for other software. I have read in some review that bitcomet downloads aggressively than other bittorrent software.

Every torrent client allows you to limit download speed.
Still I can't access internet after using bitcomet no matter what I do with the settings...when bitcomet is running over 30 minutes, browsers won't display anything...And even if I turn it off the problem won't disappear until I restart the computer. Weird right? That's why I'm using utorrent + it's faster and lighter on the memory usage + no addwares.

Yes that is pretty weird. It shouldn't happen so but I observed that when bitcomet is on and kept for a particular time, it takes up all ports and transfers data. So, browsers don't get enough bandwidth. uTorrent is also very nice. Generally I keep bitcomet running at night times when I am not browsing.

I really love my µTorrent. I use it everyday to download many big files over the internet. This helps me a lot as it is very uncomfortable to use rapidshare or any other file sharing site.
Furthermore, µTorrent is very lightweight and easy to handle.
Private tracker? I use some of it.

I tried DC++ and bear share but I wasn't really satisfied so I stopped using them and I stuck with torrents + occasionally some direct download.

yeah i think torrents are the best option to download especially you are downloading bigger files.. rapid share downloading really is irritating at times..and unlike torrents it does no have any resume options if we had to stop download in between.. and also torrenst gives us a lt of options and right now am not using any specialised torrent client.. i just use ares to open my torrents

Torrents have a lot of great options. The only annoying thing is when there are no seeders

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Direct downloads don't give you the maximum bandwidth if you aren't members and they cost a hell of a lot to actually purchase one. I have been using torrents for three years, they cost simply nothing at all. I've also got a good Ratio as I've uploaded more than I download. I've simply got everything from torrents, TV series, Movies, Games, xxx, you name it. Too bad there hasn't been a method to earn money from torrents yet otherwise I reckon that would become something really popular. Great information to other people though Bionicman, keep up the good works. Happy myLotting !

Hey Bionicman,
Yes I use and love torrents. Rapishare is pretty annoying I use Xtremespeeds it's a really sweet site for downloading large files fast. I downloaded a 18gb file in 6 hours not bad what? I sometimes use Mininova or BTjunkie there pretty good to but for speed it's Xtreme all the way.

I am a big fan of the ABC client, it's very basic and easy to use. I also go to the website isohunt to get the torrents, they seem to have good listings and a lot of people use it.

I have heard about torrents but have been hesitant to use them because of reported privacy concerns and security concerns because you are in fact opening up your computer to someone else.
I downloaded a torrent client and installed it but I'm hesitant to use it. You are correct downloading a file in10 parts is a pain.

I don't know very much about bittorrent security. I've been using it for years and never had any problems.

I usually prefer using utorrent especially for downloading big files. Although, I don't use it that regularly, but I can say that it has upper hand as compared to other files sharing sites while downloading bigger files or multiple files.

Yeah, it's great when you're downloading multiple files especially cause you can choose what files exactly will you download and ignore the rest.

I download all the time and love using torrents to get the files I want. I did use utorrent but then changed to bitcomet. I have found this to be really good, easy to use (not that techy me!) and not too taxing for my laptop. I mainly use mininova.org to search for the files I want. I can always find what I want on ther, I sometimes go to their top downloaded files to see whats hot. There is one UK tv show which I can't find on there, then I use Isohunt it searches all torrent sites for you. I never use the private trackers.

I started using utorrent cause it's easier to handle for my laptop:)
utorrent is much lighter for the memory + no addware and no suffocating network.
I dunno I liked comet too, whatever works for you

I download using torrent regularly. I was introduced to them by a friend on a forum I frequent who gave me a 'Torrent 101' lesson and talked me through the set up.
I use utorrent because that is what she used and introduced me to. I'm pretty happy with it, never had any problems using it and managed to find my way around personalising it as much as I need to.
I find public trackers to pretty much cover all the things I want to download, although I have managed to get onto a couple of tv related private trackers which provide me with the slightly more obscure shows I'm looking for.
Honestly, sometimes I wonder how I ever survived without torrents :p

I bumped into great article about how to set up your torrent client perfectly. That is actually what inspired me to start this thread. I'd share the link but it's not written in English
