Mine is from the Queen of the Damned, when Lestat is awaken from his slumber:
There comes a time for every vampire when the idea of eternity becomes momentarily unbearable. Living in the shadows, feeding in the darkness with only your own company to keep, rots into a solitary, hollow existence. Immortality seems like a good idea, until you realize you're going to spend it alone. So I went to sleep, hoping that the sounds of the passing eras would fade out, and a sort of death might happen. But as I lay there, the world didn't sound like the place I had left, but something different.
Better. It became worthwhile to rise again as new gods were born and worshipped. Night and day, they were never alone. I would become one of them.
Whether it was that first meal, or a hundred years of rest, I'm not sure. But suddenly I was feeling better than ever. My senses so high they led me straight to the instrument of my resurrection, playing in my old house.

My favorite movie intro is the intro to Fight Club, when you are first introduced to Edward Norton and Brad Pitt's characters. Its dark and cynical and shows you just how pathetic edward Norton's life is. I found out later that if you look at Edward Norton's shoulder (not sure which one) a tiny Brad Pitt can be seen (if you watched the movie you would understand).

Hi scammerwear,
Mine is from "Pathfinder" and "300" both have great intro and visual effects. I also love "Apocalypto" the very fist scene was so amazing up to its last scene. With Apocalypto, the intro was about a group of hunters...which includes the main character "Jaguar" and they were hunting for a bore.. it looks pretty real and the weird part is they ate it raw. hahaha.. I think it one of the best films Mel Gibbson has directed apart from Brave Heart.

I agree with you there, Pathfinder and 300 got great intro and visual effects, especially 300, where almost every movements shows the spartan muscle thus their masculinity, too bad pathfinder in my opinion had a bad ending, because he vikings didn't get killed by the hero in a fight but in an ambush of avalanche.

I think my fav moive intro, has got to be 'vantage point', as that's the very first movie i watched, with such opening and such sequences throughout it.. hehe ^_^ BUt i wont know how to go about explaining it, and all i know is that it's unique, making the whole plot more understandable.. haha =D

I love that movie! Actually, I loved the book and all of her other books as well. I still prefer my imagination over any movie though.

I completely agree with you! I remember when I watched the movie "I Am Legend" and then a week later I read the book. The bookk completely blows the movie away! their so different and yet the book is the clear winner. The meaning of the title is lost to the movie because it doesn't end the same way as the book (not even close).
