With the developement of technology and massive spreading of internet facility, i think the demand of books have reduced. Why do we buy books? For knowledge. But internet facility has made the knowledge sources so open, thereby the sell of books are believed to be reduced. Despite that, do you buy books? When did you buy a book last time?

I am very fond of reading books but of a particular type. Throughout my life i have read books of various categories but since the last 20 years i now read only one category of books and that is ,spiritual.I had bought many books and even distributed them and though i haven`t bought any in recent times, i think the last time i purchased books were about 16 to 18 years back.Yes the internet is definitely a good source of knowledge but the comfort level of a book cannot be replaced by the net.I do not think i will be buying any books in the near future though i am eyeing a 3 part series of a particular book which i plan to buy when it is available.

Being a Hindu i am naturally interested in our philosophy which is extremely profound.Books like the Bhagwat Gita give humans the way they should conduct their lives and move slowly and gradually towards God conciouesnes and ultimate liberation which is the final goal of every soul born into this worldly life.I would like to recommend this pathbreaking book "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda, incase you haven`t read it already.Yogananda, founder of the Self Realisation Fellowship(SRF) in the USA and many countries of the world. He moved to America from India in1920 and ultimately passed away in 1952 and his body lies buried in the Forest Lawn cemetry in California.Reiki is good, a method of healing but you need to move towards the higher aspects of life. This book, hopefully will inspire you and lead you towards your final goal.

I still buy books despite the fact that I do a lot of my reading online. In fact, I bought the whole 3-in-1 series of the Adventures of Tintin just this month! I would admit though that nowadays, I buy boks more for collection's sake. Of course, I do read all of them, but I guess for me, if I just want to read something, then I would look for it online. But the books I buy are books that I really like, books written by my favorite authors, or in the case of my latest purchase, comicbooks that I really love. I've been a fan of the Tintin cartoons when I was younger, and I've been dreaming of getting the books for a while, so when it was available, I grabbed the chance and got the whole series. Also, it's tiring to just read books on the computer, so a good book, one with pages you can actually flip, is much better in my opinion.

I am a bibliophile and so I buy books every so often. I am often in bookstores browsing their collection, and I often end up buying at least a book before finally leaving the place. I have to be pried away from bookstores often. I buy second hand books for some books as my way of contibuting to the conservation of our planet (trees and all). But for classic books I but the best kind so that I can pass this on to my children.

I still choose to buy books because I find it more complete for the information I am looking. There is still some sources of books that you can't find in the internet like some stories or some therapies that being written in the books.Books is more complete and easy to understand I think. I still prefer to read books rather than browsing it on net.

Personally I think it's more that a real paper book is much more tactile than reading from a screen is. I love the internet, it's a fantastic place to learn about - well pretty much anything. Somehow though, when it comes to curling up in bed or on the sofa to have a read and slip into a world of fiction I want a real book. Ideally I prefer an old book, one that's second hand and well read. A book like this feels friendlier somehow. There's also nothing better than a bookcase full of all your favourite books that you can browse through and revisit like old friends.

I get books on AMazon all the time. I usually use gift certificates though so I dont know if that counts as really buying them. The last book I bought was "Eat, Pray Love. I thought this was a really good book that gave me some spirtual insight. I had heard a lot of good things about it and thought it would be agood investment. I have enjoyed the book, I'm not sure if it as good as I thought it was going to be, but it is an enjoyable book nonetheless.

I buy at least one book month. Just last week I took a trip down to my local Barnes and Noble Bookstore and bought HEAT WAVE by Richard Castle. I usually buy the classics, but every now and then I buy books written by current writers, as well. I love reading, and I especially love books.

I love books. You cannot cuddle with an ebook or a website. I used to buy books all the time (at secondhand shops though), but given finances nowadays, I can't afford to indulge the compulsion anymore. The last time I bought a book was probably a couple of weeks ago and it was for my daughter.

The Internet is nice, but give me a good old-fashioned hard copy book any day. Computers can shut down due to power outages; books can't. I like technology to a certain extent, but not so much that I'm going to stop buying books.
That having been said, the last time I bought a book was last Monday. It's called "Vampire Kisses," by Ellen Schreiber. It looks like an interesting series, so I got it. :D

The last time i buy books would be five years ago, well actually i only buy books which interest me, and I'm very interested in arcane stuff like medieval time, sorcery, stuff like that, and those kind of book is rarely published, and in my opinion buying books is better than reading it on the net, because with books you can read it without turning you computer on, meaning there will be less energy and expenses spent on electricity and internet connections fee, though printed books means a tree is being cut down.

i may differ as i feel e books can never substitute the actual books.though they happen to be good at times but reading a normal book is more fun as it stresses your neck and eyes less. since i am a voracious(LOL thats what my friends say when it comes to my book reading habit) reader i don't need an excuse to buy myself a book.

I bought several new books yesterday. One of them is Enlighten Childhood by the a famous Italian writer Amics E. D. It tells about what a pupil sees in his school in the form of diaries. A very good book, a classic for enlightening children, indeed.

I buy books every week. They just love me at Barnes and Nobel. I have looked at getting a Kindle - it would be really nice to have so many books with you at all times. But I'm not sure if I wouldn't miss the feel of the actual book. I read a lot. I always have a book with me and if I get stuck waiting I start reading. My children and spouse are the same. Which unfortunately can run into a lot of money, but I figure you can't go wrong by reading. I don't like reading on the computer screen or the laptop - it just isn't the same somehow.

Alot of books aren't just knowledge based. Alot of books are for your entertainment. I buy mystery books. The last one i bought was the latter part of september. It is a good way to entertain yourself when you are waiting like at the doctor's office or if you have alot of time on your hands. There is nothing like a good book when it is raining or just plain cold outside. Other people may not have internet or access to internet. I really do not know if the selling of books have gone down due to the internet or not. It does make me wonder though. I never even thought about it until this discussion.
