What is the maximum time you can sit and read without taking a break, one of cousins can sit for 1 hours without taking a break, once i saw him start reading at 4 in the evening and I could see him awake till 3 in the morning.
I can hardly sit for 2 hours without taking a break.

I can sit and read a good book for hours at a time. Of course, during that time, I make sure I do little stretches and exercise a bit so I don't get cramped up. I read as much as possible, both for learning and for relaxation.
I don't watch television so I also use that extra time for reading. Once a reader, always a reader, I guess.

Hi hireshd!
I can sit down and read for several hours. That is if the book I am reading is really very interesting. Of course, I also have to consider other tasks that I have to accomplish. If I do not have other things to do, then I would definitely sit down and read on hours end.

Hi Hireshd, I can read non-stop to the end of a book if I am interested (if I do not partake in any liquids, I wouldn't even stop to use the facilities, or I would bring the book with me). I do love to read and a good thriller/murder mystery book will keep me up all night until I have finished the book! Books that require intense scrutiny or thought processes (text books/factual books) I tend to take breaks so that I can absorb and process all the information.

I can sit for as long as the book is finished. But it must not be a Russian novel for they are too big to handle in one session. Generally that gives me cramps but still....

I think the longest I can go for a session of reading is probably one or two hours. I could probably go longer then that if I was really getting into the book that I was reading. Sometimes I read nonfiction books though and I'm trying to learn something when I read those so it takes me a while because I take notes and things like that to try and prepare myself for college.

It really depends on how interesting the book is. I cant really read school books, but I can read other books for hours with hardly any breaks

Hi hireshd
I can sit and read without taking a break for 5 hours After that, i need to take a break by drink some waters or grab snacks! Actually it depends on the book. The more interesting, the more time I can sit and read without any break. But it is bad for our health. We will need to drink water more if we sit more.. Really? Are you sure your cousins not even take a break by drink or eat some snacks? Waw, from 4 in the evening until 3 in the morning! That's quiet long!

i think it varies from person to person.somebody could read for hours while it is difficult for someone to read even for a hour at a stretch. it depends on individuls perseverence and concentration, also the place ,time.atmosphere of reading is important.you can read for hours cant memorise what you have read if you dont have enough concentration

I can definately say that I'm more like your cousin. I love to read and I can read for hours as long as the book captures my interest. When I was younger, I would get in trouble because I would take a flashlight to bed and read after bedtime. By the time I was in the 5th grade, I was reading 600 page books in less than 3 days. I would read from the time I was on the bus until past my bedtime. Now that I'm older and I have a child my available time has decrease severely, but I still get in as many hours as I can.

I cold easily read all day, and did do quite often when I was younger, but now that I'm older, I often have to stop after a few hours because of tired eyes. It takes all the pleasure out of reading if I'm starting to get blurry vision due to tiredness and I have to stop.

Hello hireshd,
I can read a book for 3-4 hours without taking a break. I love reading and whenever I find a good book to read, I just forget about everything else. But due to my busyness nowadays, I seldom have a chance to read anything for the time being. I still have eight books to finish which I borrowed from my friend about two months ago. I hope I can find some good time to start reading and finish all the books as fast as I could.

It honestly depends what it is I'm reading. If I'm reading something for university then I have to take a 5 minute break every half an hour, otherwise the information won't go into my head properly.
If it's fiction however, and I get really into it, then I can sit for 2 or 3 hours at a time and just read the whole book at once. I don't often get that amount of spare time mind you, but it is very nice when it happens!
I read all of the Twilight books within a week, which is very fast for me, considering I don't normally have that much free time to read to myself!
The books were just so good that I couldn't put them down!

If the book is good I can read it for a few hours, I have to use the facilities every hour or so, and I get stiff if I sit for too long. If it's good and keeps my interest I can keep reading. Shorter capters seem to make it go faster. I tell myself just one more chapter, then another and another. That's one of the reasons I like Stephen King his chapters are usually short. If the chapters are long and very descriptive of the scenery, I loose interest quickly.

I am always addicted to sth like this. It's a disaster, aha, which means I will spend a whole night to swallow it. I am often absorbed by some books or films or sitcom. Fortunately the times of reading books lying in bed in a whole night is litte, I try to restrain myself, otherwise I will be tortured by eye ache and shoulder ache the next day. Have to say it's cozy and joyful to focus on reading a whole book quickly in a short time.
