H1N1 Vaccine ?

Are you getting it? Are you able to find somewhere with it? Do you not fit into the age catagories to recieve it? Are you just not that worried about it? What is your strategy? They had people lined up for hours at our local expo center to recieve a dose. I don't think my kids would have the patience to stand in that line no matter how important it is Nor figuring out how to pay for it! *sigh* Plus right now they only have the live nasal version thus far by us and I"m leary of the nasal one since it is a live virus.

No way will me or my children get the H1N1 vaccine. I think it is a nice way to get people to fear something new for a minute. I have not been feeling very good about this from the start. They are rushing to mass produce this thing and I have no idea what the long or short term effects are. Did you see that Obama's children will not be taking the vaccine. No thanks, neither will mine...

i also decided not to vaccinate my children, and now one has h1n1. i would rather deal with the illness than the possible bad effects of a vaccine that has not been studied.

I am sorry to hear that one of your children is ill with the flu. I hope they are well very soon. Is your child doing okay? I imagine the flu itself would be miserable but it will go away. My children and I are not high risk so I think if we did get it, we would be okay.

Avian Flu and Swine Flu are just hoaxes designed by big pharmaceutical companies in cooperation with The Cabal. Have you ever heard avian flu cases after swine flu erupted? No? There you go!

you wouldn't think swine flu was a hoax if it was your child that had it. mine is dealing with h1n1 right now, and it is definitely NOT a hoax. don't fool yourself you and your children, or other ppl's children are definitely able to get this illness, and it is very serious!

I got the regular flu shot for my son but I'm not going to get the H1N1 vaccine for him or myself. I don't like the nasal ones because they are the live virus and I'm kinda iffy about that.

I am of the same opinion on the live virus as well. Plus as others have said they came up with a vaccine awful quick compared to things that have been around for many generations if not since the beginning of mankind.

I am considered a high risk individual and because I am, I have the chance to get the vaccine for free. I am electing not to take the shot. I don't think it's so worth it. I'm more worried about the long term effects of the shot more than anything. They don't know much about the shot, it hasn't been tested for very long and that worries me. It's all be accomplished way too fast.

Ironically that's what I was telling another mom @ my childrens school... How is it they come up with this vaccine so fast since the inital round & or discovery of H1N1? While we are still trying to cure other things that have been around for generations like Diabetes, Cancer, MD ect. I would agree though we didn't really get sick til our kids were in school. And after getting sick 2yrs in a row it's worth it for me to get the shot. Though we always seemed to get it in Feb when we have a fluke of warm weather & then bam we're sick as dogs.

As of right now I don't plan on getting it. I've never had a flu shot in my life and don't remember the last time I've had the flu. *knocks on wood* And the few times I've had the flu it's not been a bad case. *knocks on wood again* Since I don't work in the public and my daughter isn't in school or around many kids I've decided we'll just take our regular precautions. I might feel differently when I go back to college next Spring and have to put my daughter in preschool. But for right now I'm saying no to all flu shots.

There are "fake" vaccines going around?!?!?! I've never heard of such a thing! I'd be even more leary then of recieving some unknown substance into my body thinking it was a vaccine. That's a reason I'd rather just go to our Dr to get it handled.

Yes, I will be getting my shot. The high risk groups are getting it this week, and starting Monday, all the rest of us will be getting it. You can go to severaldifferent clinics, or the doctor, or they will come to work sometimes also. We're fortunate here in Ontario, the shots are free.

I doubt the shots here are free. The regular flu shot depending on your provider as far as I know run between $15-30 a person here. To get me & the kids (hubby is chicken of shots) done it ran us $60 @ our Dr's office. But the clinics in the stores are atleast $30 a person. No idea how much the H1N1 would cost.

It' available to me, and because of my current state of health it has been recommended that I get it. But I won't be getting the vaccine even though it was recommended to me. Despite my health problems, I'm still the healthiest sick person that ever lived. Now my mom, she should really get it.

I haven't heard any update of when they will be available in our area. I still haven't made the decision on weather to get it or not. I would stand in line though and take my son. THe way i handle him is i bring someone with me and we take turns taking him out of line and finding things to entertain him or distract him.

I am considering it; I'm afraid that my school already has it, and my age group is somewhat susceptable to the H1N1 virus. My friend's school district is offering the vaccine for free, so I just might go there. :]

If you can get it for free it's worth a shot. I hope you are able to get it though you live out of district.

My entire family had a flu shots very year for the last 4 years now. If the H1N1 would be available in my country, I would have all my family take the shots. But I would not lined-up for hours just to get the shots. Better to wait for a while until the panicking subsides. Have to boost-up the immune system too with all the vitamins and minerals supplements every day.

After seeing a video on the news about a young cheerleader who, after getting a vaccination, ended up suffering from a neurological disorder I'm not certain I will. I remember that the girl couldn't properly walk forward, that she stumbled and flailed when she did, and couldn't talk properly either. I understand that her case may be extremely rare; however, why not wait a bit? I think I'll play it safe for now, keep sanitizing and cleaning, and wait for better results/vaccines.

I receive my flu jab every year and I do fall into the high priority group. I have Asthma and I've had this all my life. When I went to see the nurse to receive my normal flu jab she told me that I would be contacted in due course in order to receive the H1N1 vaccine and I'm really glad about this. Once the high priority cases have been taken care of the rest of the population will then be catered for. If I got the swine flu virus then it would most definitely kill me due to my having asthma. There are four of us in my household and we decided to all get the H1N1 shot. My children and I already got both the H1N1 and the flu shots but we have not been able to find a place for my husband to get the H1N1 shot. My kids were able to get the H1N1 shot from their pediatrician and I was able to get mine from my gynecologist office. I am hoping the there is soon a place where my husband can get the shot but until then we will all just continue to take precautions to help prevent the symptoms. All of the flu shots that we were able to get were free of charge because we are patients and because of the medical coverage. We got the shot although we were told that they were only nasal injections which I feel is better. I know there are a lot of people that are against the swine flu shot but I am glad that my family got it and am hoping soon there is a place that my husband can get it.

I will not get the vaccine because I think it's just a fraud from the farmaceutical industry. Besides, I don't get vaccines. My only strategy, that honestly isn't really a strategy but it's just my life, is to keep fit, train, eat healthy stuff, get rid of all sugar, processed food, trash...and for me that's enough. In fact to be honest, I'm the only one resisting all kinds of ailments at work, lol. Will let you guys know if I get this piggy-flu.

I don't understand the problem! If a vaccin exist, it is to be done, and if there is a chance not to pay it with so much patience it si to do! We're no talking about measles or chicken pox but it is a disease that still don't know well!
