This is gonna sound like another random idea, blame my wife lol,but I was thinking about remote controls, and how this one time I dropped our satellite remote, and it kind of fell a part and I was worried it would not work again,so I managed to put it back together but I was intrigued by the inner parts of the remote control so I took it back a part and was looking at the different parts of the remote,to see if I could figure out all the parts and it was amazing what the inside of a controller looks like, and but it never seemed to fit together properly again, even though it does not matter because we have Time Warner Cable now,so my questions are Have you ever taken a remote control apart?Did you do it on purpose? If so what made you want to take it apart? If not, what happened? Were you able to get it back together?Did it still work after it was put back together?Do you still have the remote now?I will be glad to get any responses that I get,but please only respond seriously,so I can comment back to them,Happy Mylotting.

My husband spilled syrup on the remote once, and had to take it apart to clean it up. Seeing as syrup is so sticky, it wasn't easy. Fortunatly the remote's numbers were a solid strip of rubber, so no syrup seeped into the insides of the remote, or it probably wouldn't have worked!

I am glad to hear that syrup did not get into the inside of the remote, because then you probably would have had to get another one,and your husband should try to be more careful lol, thanks for responding.

I have small kids so it's not a safe place for remote controls, those things always end up in bandages LOL. So as much as I don't like tinkering with that small gadget I always end up wrapping it in rubber bands and tapes just to hold it together in one piece. But the mechanism is just pretty simple, almost all the remote controls in the house had been replaced and the latest one a TV which is also in its dilapidated state is still working in spite of it being soaked in water during the typhoon that hit us. I tried to open it but I can't find a screw around it, the problem is I have to be about 12 inches or nearer in the TV to change channels. Cheers!

Kids always get into everything and it is funny how they get so many booboos lol, and it sounds like an annoyance that you have to be so close to the television, and I am sorry that you can not take it apart, and I know I my parents have used tape to fix things in the past, duct tape can fix anything lol, thanks for responding.

I remember that time that you took the controller back apart, and to be honest, I thought it was kind of interesting, but right now I don't because my bum hurts. I love you though, and I think this is a great discussion. Hope you get lots of good responses on it. Yea, we have time warner now, and it doesn't seem there controllers are as flimsy.

yes I did open a remote control before. I remembered taking apart at least three, two tv remote control and one control for my motorcycle security alarm remote. All of them doesn't work so I took the risk of taking them apart and only one was fixed, there's a loose wire on one of the battery terminals so soldering it solved the problem. The other two I think is too complicated for me to fixed. Putting it back together is not that hard as long as you know where things are seated and nothing pops out or dropped. I still have those remote conrols somewhere I think.

I am sure them not working made it easier to take them apart because you knew you could not make it any worse than it already was,and I am glad you were able to fix one of them and it sucks that the other two were too complicated, lol I bet they are in drawer or box somewhere, thanks for responding.
