Oh, the internet for sure! It's fantastic for finding recipes and cooking tips for just about any dish you can think of. I used to have to try and find the information in any one of several cookbooks I have, but now I just go to one or two websites like allrecipes.com and I can find a whole batch of recipes online for the dish I want to make. I can print out one or several in a matter of minutes and have what I need. I don't always follow them to a tee, I usually modify them somewhat or even a lot but the info I find online gets me started. I've always ended up with something that I could eat! [;-)

This is such a wonderful question! Since I no longer have my mom around, I consult different cookbooks, internet resources, or RACHAEL RAYE! Also, I am currently reading a wonderful cookbook sponsored by Men's Health called Muscle Chow. I also bought a book, "Rocco Gets Real" which is wonderful!

Since both my Gram and mom have passed I just take what I learned and cook what I can. If it is too much for me and I don't know the recipe, I will go to cook books and make it my own.

never have consulted my mom even when she was alive. she never liked cooking and seldom did so. i've cooked more than she ever had to. she usually found a way out of it. my mother in law..first one, taught me a lot. now i consult cook books and the internet.

That's the same as me - I will always ask my mum for advice if I need it quickly, but then she can tend to take over a bit especially when she is present! I do also check the internet because like you said - you can check for pictures to see how the final product should look!

I am past the consulting stage
I offer advise. I´m 64 years old and love to cook. So I´m always making up new recipes, depending on what I have at home. I can do a dish with almost anything!
I live alone but I´m very social. So I have "adopted" some people and I cook for them as a way to cuddle. We have fun.
Take care!

Hello laydee this is checkmail and me too often consult mine mom and sis when cooking some special dish, mostly old one.As they are having experience in it, its easy to get with the cooking.Else do prefer some receipe books and tv food shows to get the actual guidlines of cooking.

Hi laydee,
I check with internet first and then consultant my mom. If my mom also doesnt know the receipe then i experiment on everyone.
