I really really love "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. The words and melody are very simple yet very meaningful. He only talked about simple things we see around us and how lovely they are. It makes us realize that there are a lot of good things in this world which we don't normally pay attention to. For me, the song is very dramatic and very humbling. I think it is a very genius song. It did not even need to talk about weird topics or complicated melodies. Just the things we've always had that we rarely give importance to..Simple song but very meaningful.
You? What's the one song you've always loved that you wish you were the singer or the writer of?

Probably "If Everyone Cared," by Nickelback, or something along those lines (:
I love the music video to it, too! It has such an amazing message and urges us to all wake up.
Either that or "Man in the Mirror," by Michael Jackson :3

Hello calai618!
Nice discussion.
My favorite song for all the times is 'Man In The Mirror' by Michael Jackson.
I have never heard a song who can be more favor than 'Man In The Mirror'. That song makes me understand that we not must always want to change the 'world'. When I say 'world' I mean all the peoples. No! We must first change ourself and better start with the 'Man In The Mirror'.
Genius song, genius melody, genius lyrics and of course - genius singer.

Yes, hands down to that! I love MJ too. The meaning of that song is really great. We cant deny the impact of that song. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera even have their own songs with sort of "mirror" in them. Girl in the Mirror and Reflection, respectively. But of course, nothing beats MJ!!!

I love the song It is my life by Bon Jovie. It is sung by a broken heart person and every bit of it is so meaningful and inspiring. It starts like 'This is a song for the broken hearts' and then he will sing 'It is my life.' He sings why should we sit dumb, we have a good life and so on. Whenever I hear that song, tears come to my eyes. It is a horrible thing to loose love. But that is not the end. Why should we think that we lost everything when the other person mercilessly left our true love? When the other person did not understand our true love and did not care a foot for sincere love, why we should feel that we lost everything? All these thoughts will come to me when I listen to it.

i don't think it is the greatest but it is one of my favorite songs that me friends love and ask me to sing specially when there is a party or something. this is from the Journey and it is "Faithfully". I love this song since high school. And now that Journey's front-man is a Filipino, in the person of Arnel Pineda, I can say that this one brings the Filipinos closer to the world.

Well, the song I'd pick isn't the best song in the world, but it speaks to my heart. It's a Christian song, although I've heard it played on secular stations every once and a while. The song is called I Can Only Imagine, and the group that sings it is Mercy Me.

I've always been a fan of classical music, especially piano, which I happen to play. So when I went with my friends to see Twilight last year, I fell in love with Bella's lullaby. I don't know why, but everything in that song just kind of added up. They blended together to form this perfect melody, and at the end, left you with this kind of longing. I listened to it several times, and just couldn't get enough of it. After finding the sheet music and learning to play it, I played it every chance I got. I just absolutely love that song, and wish so much that I had written it.

Pink's "Please Don't Leave Me" is one among a lot of others. I've mistreated ex-boyfriends and it would be nice for me to say "I'm Sorry" in the way she did.

The Answer Lies Within by Dreamtheater. I love this song a lot (well, actually I love all their pieces). It serves as an inspiration for me when things don't go my way. The main idea of the song is that you are responsible for whatever happens to your life and if something goes wrong you have the power to resolve it.

I love Jason Mraz and his passion for lyrics. "A Beautiful Mess" is the best so far, I wish someone would sing it for me! Try listening to it or just read out the lyrics, hope you'll love it too!
