I guess to be a good listener,
I need to be patient while person talking,
I need to be concentrating on each and every word the person talking,
I should not interrupt the person talking.
You think you need to add some more to this?
Let me know how much do we be patient to complete this question.. :)

When we put personal view points to others it becomes a discussion and that discussion tend to quarrel if both did not come to a single point. Forget listening at this stage we cant resist talking.. ;)

Hmmm, for me its easy.
Be concerned enough. That's it.
It is only when we are concerned enough that we attentively listen, without thinking about the time we spend listening, nor patience until the other person stops.
Notice that when we are not interested, we tend to be easily distracted. We get the tendency to want to cut off the person talking. We find it hard to concentrate on what that person is trying to say.
But when we are interested or concerned, even without trying, we can really listen, we can be good listeners.
