Do you cook your toast in a toaster or under the grill?

For just plain toast which I put butter or something on later I prefer the toaster. I rarely use the grill for "toasting". I have used the microwave to melt cheese onto a piece of toast.

Has to be the toaster since the grill has been broken for years! Tho' at the moment I have a microwave that will grill... but it takes forever & it just isnt the same as a proper one. I do toasted cheese spread sandwiches in the toaster because it doesn't squidge out like real cheese.

Primarily I use the toaster. I will use the toaster oven to toast if I am doing two or three English muffins or bagels or sandwiches, as you said. I will also make grilled cheese on top of the stove. It takes too long to get the oven heated up to broil or toast. I cannot use the toaster oven and the toaster at the same time, it blows a circuit. Same if I use toaster or toaster oven and microwave at the same time. They are all on the same breaker.

Hi there. I prefer to use the toaster to toast the bread as it is much faster and it is more convenient than grilling. It also allows better control so that you do not burn your toast.

I will always use a toaster its so much easier. I do have an outside electric grill which I use like a barbecue in summer and will toast bread on that sometimes its very tasty. If I am having cheese on toast then I will first use the toaster and then put it under the grill to melt the cheese. Mmmm cheese on toast - I am hungry now!

hi jugsjugs when we still were in our own apartment I used a toaster as I did not have a grill. I loved toast too. I made my grilled cheese sandwiches by frying them on each side to a golden brown. they were nice and 'gooey inside.

We use the toaster here as we don't usually eat toast except for the mornings, and even then we don't eat toast! lol! Now for a grilled cheese sandwich we'll use the oven, or stove. I'm used to using the oven, wherein my husband's mom uses the stove.

I like the oatmeal bread my mom used to get from the Irish Bakery here in town when I was a kid. It tasted so good. You toast in the oven for afew then put butter and cinnamon on it and serve it warm. It is delicious and won't want to go back to the plain toast you are used to.

It is pretty important to get your toast just right and for me nothing beats the good old toaster unless I am having cheese on toast of course. I have my toaster set up for the perfect toast, so that, along with the perfect cup of coffee and my day is set.

Hi jugs I haven't been around for the last couple of days. Im in the middle of the move and getting things organized. They don't have my internet on at the new place yet. It will be around the 6TH before it gets on. So Im using my sons and don't get a lot of time. I fix my toast in toaster. I think it is better that way. My mother in law fixes hers in a skillet. I had never seen anyone do that until she did. I still prefer the toaster. Have a nice weekend and keep smiling.

I put toest in an oven toester. Since I will soak the bread first on a melted butter and roll in a white sugar it is much convenient to use the toaster to estimate just the right amount of time to toast it and also the temperature could be adjust to avoid the sugar be burned.

Recently I discovered putting the bread in the pan where I have just fried the eggs. It hardly takes time as the pan is hot and ready and I like it that way.

I prefer the toaster. I find putting it under a grill dries out the bread too much, unless, as you said, you put cheese on it, or make cinnamon toast.

All that we have in the house right now is a toaster oven and that suits me just fine. I use it all the time. Now, the time when I am doing something with toast that I don't use the toaster oven is when I am making either grilled cheese or when I am making French toast. For both of those meals, I use the griddle on the stove to make the bread the way that I like it. I remember when my grandmother was alive, all she had as a conventional toaster so at her house we either used that or we had to use the broiler/stove.

We have both a toaster and a toaster oven (is that what you mean by grill?). I often use the toaster, but my husband uses the toaster oven as that how they made toast when he was growing up. It seems to me the toaster oven uses way more electricity, so I just use our simple toaster (sounds dumb, but that's one of my reasons!).
