hi nicholaYa hi again. I am ashamed to admit I only speak
one language but can read some in Spanish and in French
but cannot really converse in either Spanish or French.
Now you know all these languages and I think that is
really marvelous. I also think that it is much easier
to learn foreign languages when you are young like you
are.You are indeed not too old. So I only really know English.
I am an American in the US and in California to be exact.

Hi Hatley, oh there is nothing to be ashamed of if you talk only in English, I know three languages English, Hindi and Telugu, i can't speak much in Telugu though, i am a lazy person, i guess i learned the third language just because i grew up in a place where everybody talks in Telugu otherwise i guess i would have been too lazy to learn it , Hindi and Telugu are both Indian languages but there is a lot of difference between them... and you said you don't know any other language than English and well you can read some in Spanish and French

1. Dutch. I am pretty eloquent for my age, although I say it myself.
2. English, pretty good for my age as well.
3. German. Some standard sentences. Still learning.
4. French. What a weird language, stopped learning years ago.
Remember I am only 18 so don't expect me to talk any language fluently. :)

Hi nicholaya and bart78! you see, I'm half chinese too so I can speak a little Mandarin. And I'm from the Philippines so I can speak our local language plus another dialect from my province and English too! Unfortunately, I'd say my English is better than my Mandarin cause most chinese people I know here speak Fu Jian and I can't practice conversing in mandarin much. I visited nanjing a couple of months back and I'd love to visit more of china...it makes me feel proud i can speak, even a little, of the language.

Hi, nichola. Welcome here. It seems you've stayed in many places. No wonder you've mastered so many languages, of course including dialects. I'm also from China and onced stayed in at least 4 different places as you do. Actually, I don't like to learn the particular dialect there when I live in a new place, or more accurately, I don't even bother to do it. I like to speak Mandarin wherever I go, even in my own hometown. It's a kind of personal habit, I think. Well, besides the mother tongue, I know English and Japanese. I love learning foreign languages. Perhaps we can communicate more as we get to know each other better.

i'm italian so i know my language, i know english too, not so much, but i think it's enaugh to write here and to talk with people from other countries, i would liek to learn japanese too, i know a bit of it, like days, colours, numbers, and some sentences. I would like to learn it beacause i would like to go there and live there when i'll finish university. So i need to know this language very well. I've an advantage, the letters and sounds of italian language are the same for japanese, you can't distinguish an italian from a japanese if they talk in the same language, also wothout know what the're saing.
