Do you know what astral projection is? Have you ever experienced this phenomenon? Most people have but do not realize it. Ever had the feel you were falling while sleeping? This could have been a moment of astral projection. Those who believe in this phenomenon think that the reason for the falling sensation is because the conscious mind can't expect what is going on. Or have you had "dreams" so real that you felt the sensations around you so vividly that you would swear it was real? Most if not all of us have the ability to do this. Have you?

There is a theory that says we all astral projecting every night but our unconscious dreams we think are normal. What has happened is that in two or three occasions when he was so real i really thought he had awakened, but it was not so what happens i was in astral travel and was using my astral body and not my physical body, this phenomenon is called "false awakwning".

astral projection is a state when your spirit just "take a walk" out of your physical body. anybody can do it, but not anyone can do it with full consciousness. so if you had the feel of falling when you sleep, it is happening but you just don't realize it :) if you do it on purpose, and you realize it, you will see the world a little bit different. but if you want to learn it, i suggest that you consult someone who has the experience on this stuff, just to be safe. :p

I do know what it is and actually I've always wanted to work on trying it BUT I'd read and been told that because there is violence (a considerable amount) in my past and disorders as a result, attempting Astral Projection isnt a wise idea so i've never gone any further than just reading about it...

Not true about the violence. I came from a violent household. I think I started astral projecting as a means to get away from such violence. There are rules for doing this. First of all nothing can harm you while you astral project. You may thing that may frighten you but they can not harm you. But the most important rule I think is that while falling you need to wake up! Once you condition your mind to accept the fact that you can do this, you will not experience the falling sensation. Do not get offended by the word condition since everything we do involves conditioning. In fact most of us are condition to not accept things like this. For instance most children can see auras but when they try to tell an adult, because the adult can't see the aura their vision is dismissed as child imagination. Hope this helps. Thanks

I've been through this phenomenon, several times, including when I was "put under", in surgery, while delivering my first born. I sometimes force myself to wake up, because I would freak out thinking that I was going to die, I would try to shake my legs or move my arms and I would feel as if I'm paralyzed. I would calmly move one limb at a time, then the other then finally wake up. I guess it's my silly little soul was having too much fun floating outside of my body. LOL. But it could be my unconscious brain is in overdrive, also.

Your apprehension is your conscious mind not excepting that this happening as possible. As you found out, be calm and all will be fine! Thanks for your response!

i always used to have falling dreams or vivid dreams, at times i could see events that became true which to date i am not trusting but they never have lied but anyways what led me to research on this ability was this one incident that happened to me, my grandmother was in the hospital and was not well at all, i had gone to see her at night and then came back and went to sleep as i had college in the morning and when i was sleeping i saw this dream where my grandmother came to me and was talking to me... i cant remember what she was telling me but it felt like she was bidding me farewell and telling me to take care of myself and my family ...... the dream was sooo real that if that isnt reality than nothing is... i mean it cant be counted as dream, i could feel everything, my senses were super sharp, every sensation, every touch i still remember to date, so then i woke up at that time and saw my father and everyone rushing to the hospital, but till we reached she had passed and that led me to research about what had happened and i found out i had an out of body experience. Since then i had a few astral projections and one that i would love to mention was when i for the first time did the astral projection, I could fly !! all i had to do was concentrate and i could fly, i met these people that lived near my house and i even went into their house, it was unbelieveable.... currently i am working on increasing my meditation so that i can enjoy the astral projection.

That is one of the first things you experience while astral projecting is flying. I once did a test with a friend of mine in Japan whereby I put him in a relax state. Then he started to tell about what he saw. It was really fasinating. Thanks for your response.

I have had several experiences of astral projections during my lifetime. Many times i have had this experience of falling from my bed, many times i have flown through the air over vast regions of the earth and this has happened during sleep as well as in a concious state.I will tell tou of a very real expeience which i had about 10 years back. In my dream i saw my Guru and i rushed to him and fell at his feet. He caught hold of me and made me stand in front of him.During his life he had long shoulder length hair which sometimes he would keep tied up but mostly loose. In the dream i stood in front of him looking into his brilliant piercing eyes.He held me by my shoulders and then suddenly embraced me tightly. I buried my face in his long silky hair from which a heavenly fragrance was being emitted. All of a sudden i woke up from the dream and i could still smell the fragrance and feel the silky toch of his hair on my face and the feel of his hands holding me for a few moments. Now i do not know whether you call this astral projection or whether he was really there, for the physical contact left me in no doubt that he was really present there both in my dream as well as physical state.

Fascinating experiences VeeJay. Yes the falling is definitely the astral body returning to the physical body. The sensation is caused by the conscious mind say to itself that this can't be happening. It's not logical or normal. But once the conscious mind accepts the fact that it is possible then the sensation of flying begins. Most times it starts with you (astral body self) somewhere in the room where your body (physical) is sleeping, looking down at yourself from the astral body. Then literally the sky's the limit! Thanks!!!

I don't know if I've ever actually astrally projected, but I have had a couple of strange dreams that made it seem like that's what happened. In one I was following this man into his house because (I thought) he had invited me (it was more like a "stop by anytime" thing). When he saw me he started freaking out and was screaming and ran to the phone to call the police. I kept telling him, "You told me I could come by," but he didn't calm down. Then I woke up. But there was a woman there (his girlfriend or wife, I guess) who apparently didn't see me and she kept trying to figure out why he was so scared. The other one requires backstory. I donate plasma, and recently I was put on an eight-week hold for blood loss. It really upset me because there's this guy who works there that I really like and we talk to each other, and it's something I really look forward to. Just after this I had a dream that I went to the donation center and was sitting on the couch waiting to be processed. The weird thing is, this dream happened at a time when I would have usually been donating (because I work at night and sleep during the day, so this dream didn't happen in the middle of the night). The guy I like sat next to me and we started talking. He told me, "You're on an eight-week hold, you can't donate." And I responded, "But I was able to donate a few days ago. They let me donate." (Apparently, in my head, I had donated just after the eight-week hold). He told me he would check, so he walked off to talk to his bosses. Then I woke up. I actually expected him to say something about it when I saw him again, but he didn't.
