I think need for parents remain as long as you becomes grand parents.and i mean it because in my society parents are considered the pillars of familly,so without them the famillies are incomplete specially the elders, grand children also enjoy there Grands more then there own parents therefor we need them always!

I lost my father when I was just fourteen years old, so he missed the majority of the major milestones in my life. He never got to see me graduate from high school and he never got to see me off to college. Then when the time came for me to get married, he wasn't there to walk me down the aisle and to dance with me at my wedding reception. He never had the opportunity to know the two grandchildren that I've given him and my mother.
All of those things said, that is the reason that I value my mother as much as I do. Now only is she my mother, she is also my very best friend. She and I have a relationship that most people only dream about having with one of their parents. I hope that she will be around for a very long time and we can continue to have the wonderful relationship that we have.

My father was my best friend. He passed away nine years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think about him. I miss him terribly. My mom is still alive and I talk to her frequently. We do not live close together, but we visit in the summer. I love my parents and everything they have done for me.

As the old saying goes, "You don't know what you got until its gone". My mom passed away 2 years ago and I miss her so much. When I think of her I remember all the things she has done for me. When we are young we always think our parents are pestering us, but later in life we realize what they were trying to teach us was for our good. Only later do we come to appreciate them. No one should ever miss the opportunity to show love to their parents if they are still alive. We never know how long we have on this earth and should realize how precious our time with our loved ones are. So I say give your mom or dad or both a big hug today and let them know how much you appreciate them.

I agree, mine passed on in 2005/2006 and there are things in life I wish I could share with them...like my wedding in August, was weird as there was no mother of the bride and I decided not to have anyone give me away. I resented mine growing up as they were older parents and very strict, but over the years my Mum became my best friend and I still bickered with my Dad. Only regret is that I didn't know they'd adopted me until they were gone.

You can buy anything in this world but not your parents. No one can equate parents. They never expect anything from you, they know only to give. They always will be on the look out to give best comfort to you. Even if you scold them for forcing, they see to it that you eat well and take care of yourself. There is a mythological story in India. Parasurama asks his son to behead his mother and son, in order to follow his father's orders, beheads his mother. The head will fall on the road. That head says to her son, 'son, look on the road and walk. There are lot of stones on the way, you may fall.' She does not bother that her son has beheaded her but in that condition too, she thinks good for her son. This is Mother. Take care of your parents. Do not repent on seeing their vacant chair.

All my family live close by less than 30 mins, and I moved back home and lived with my dad and grandparents since november 06 believe I cherish all the memories I can, while my brother and sister couldn't wait to get away.
