With all these doom and gloom people going on and on about the world blowing up in 2012, I am here to tell you that *I* intend to still be here in 2013 BECAUSE I have an anniversary to celebrate. Are you planning to celebrate with me or are you negative and silly enough to actually believe you might not exist any more? Sorry to break it to you, but unless you have a natural accident or die of a health condition or disease, I don't think the world is going to explode so you can accept your invitation to my get together. Thanks in advance.
(there is some sarcasm intended in this post and it is not personal, just saying)

At least three times in my lifetime, it was supposed to be the end of the world as we know it. Who knows if part of the Mayan calendar is just "missing", they just got tired and stopped recording the dates or if it really is the end. It's just best to live your life with love and caring and to try to do right in the world. Then it doesn't matter how much time you have, you've enjoyed every minute of it.
When the year turned to 2000 and everyone was afraid that we wouldn't have any food or water or services after midnight, our neighbor filled her bathtub so she would have drinking water and forgot it was on and flooded her bathroom!! People panic and sometimes react without thinking it through. I intend to be here Jan 1, 2013.

I knew someone who actually built a bomb shelter. They also collected and stored something like 1000 rolls of toilet paper, got ahold of a honey bucket, gallons of bottled water, and something like a ton of canned and non perishable food, manual can openers, camping gear, propane, all stuff they could use if 'the end of the world' came. I thought they were crazy. All of the prep that had to happen to ensure computer programs operated correctly when it swapped from 99 to 00 was more of a pain in the butt I think. And then - OF COURSE - January 1st 2000 was JUST ANOTHER DAY!.

Hahaha. There's sarcasm indeed. Well what's really important for me is the present. I don't care about those people saying the world will end on 2012. How can they say such things? They said a comet will hit our planet. Well, we will know about that as the comet approaches. Lol. If it's the end then it's the end. All we have to do is make the most out of our lives today and let tomorrow be tomorrow.

I'm sure I'll still be around also.
They said that it had something to do with the Mayans that built ... something ... that was predicting each year in the future, but stopped at 2112. That end of the work was probably the reason for that rumor. However, as a Mayan what will happen in 2112, their response would be, they'll flat out tell you that they don't know.
Even then, it was also predicted that the world would end in 1999. It's been ten years. Well - approximately ten years minus one month & 28 days.

Yep, there was a HUGE scare with some people about Y2K, the official slang term for the year 2000. The paranoia was interesting, that's for sure. I never like it when people get all paranoid and crazy because there are so many people who are prone to getting scared and REACTING to it even when it is NOTHING. After that, you can't reason with them for anything!

Well 2012 is still a long way to go, and I'm thinking about it, most important is the present and I have a lot of important things to do and prioritize rather than thinking what will happen on 2012. Why bother be scared if it's true? It only means that the race of the human beings will be ended, and I'm not the only one who's a human being. Happy mylotting! LOL

Ah, these are just fantasies of a naughty human mind. I plan to be here till then. But, there is much more serious going around in similar context. For that, please visit my response at http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2148144.aspx .
Happy Mylotting!!

No one knows the day or the hour but the father himself. Many people have come and said, see here, or see there. The world won't necessarily change in anyway significantly during the end of 2012. It may happen around 2010, or 11. People get so obsessed with the end of the world. That said, I'd love to see 2012 in the movies.

Doomsday in 2012 i don't believe it, no one can predict when and where earthquake is going to occur and now they think they can predict doomsday, nonsense. if i hear god yelling from the sky which is heard and understand by all the people in this planet then i would believe that judgment day has come. but if it's a person who's keep telling this thing then i don't believe it.

2013! i will be here with you guys! no one knows the end of the world except GOD! and do those people think that GOD will put an end in a world that he created? Does a normal healthy people can predict that he/she will die the next morning? can someone tell that they will get into an accident in the next few minutes? i think those people who are being paranoid with the 2012 thing are the people who are being a liability in this world! people who are violating the mother earth/nature. People who cut Trees and leave without a replacement! People who take advantage of the weak ones! and People who do bad things! really bad things just to satisfy themselves for whatever reason. For those people who are afraid of dying.. hmm.. i want to tell you that for you guys to live longer! take care of your selves! do not abuse your body! do not do things that you think will hurt you!

I have been hearing that the world is going to explode since 1950. I agree we will still be here in 2013, so where's the party??? What will we be celebrating??? Instead of worrying which day will be my last, I work toward living my life right so I make it into the pleasant eternity!!!

I am expecting to still be here too. I have to little boys that I need to raise.. I dont feel as if the world will end in 2012 and I am so tired of hearing about it.. Remember entering the millenium.. For god sakes they had body bags ready here in New York...We were suppose to lose everything and we were all ok..

I think what you are trying to say is the movie2012? I think that is merely fictional. No one knows will the world end except GOD. It would also remind us to go back to GOD because HE alone can save us, yes its scary but we just have to trust him. We will still be here I guess because GOD still has plan for me..
GOD BLESS US!!

OMG, finally someone saying something I do believe!! That I'll be here in 2013! You'll be here, and I'll be too!
Nothing is happening, it's just the last minute craze, Maya said 2012, maybe a lost Babilonian population said 2009 but we just don't know because we never discovered that...then?? Ooooh...it's just so silly, of course the world will be here.

Well about this 2012 story, many people have created so many stories about it. I do not even remember them all now, but there may be some evidence to tell that something bad gonna happen at that time, but what I believe is, that wont be the end of the world. Because scientists have told that the earth has faced such situations before and still it is giving life to the beings. But I feel that we will have to expect some bad situations at that time.
