How do you think your life would be without all the gadgets like computer, mobile phones, televisions, etc.?I think I could not live with all these things. Once they were merely luxuries. However, at the present age, they have transformed to necessities in our life.
Perhaps the reason for it is that we have become dependent to these things already. How about you What is your opinion?

I think, it would be ok and fine without those... you wouldn't feel the need... it would be similarly normal as it is normal to have those in the present days... the only difference probably would be, the life would be much simpler and peaceful...
however, if you meant a life without those after being habituated with those, things would indeed be different... nevertheless, life would still be simpler than today, more peaceful too...

If people in the past did it! Why can't i?
The problem today is that people are very much dependent on those things nowadays... but here is a scenario.. what if everything collapse like no eccentricities, no cars to ride cause of some disastrous things or..... like end of the world.. we know that no one knows when the calamities, disasters and the end will come? But in situation like that people need to struggle without those things in order for human race to survive. I am sure that if the situation is about survival people can live without all of that...
What if in a normal situation? well.. uhmm.. if those things are now invented and did not exist i think people will not have a problem with that... Coz you know people live with those kind of gadgets because it is invented and it exist and for now those gadgets are not meant to just be gone like a bubble or so... unless disaster comes.. hope you understand my point of view.. have a nice day! ^^

I use all of my gadgets, especially my phone, a lot. But i could probably live without it.
On the other hand, i don't think I could run my business without a computer of some kind.

I'm not sure I could do it. I enjoy technology too much. It's not like I'm obsessed with it and can't go a day or two without an item, it's just that I prefer having it around. It makes my life a lot easier and a lot more fun. I like things that make my life simple it's way too complicated and hard as it is.

I probably die of boredom when these things don't exist any longer. It is true that all these items have been incorporated into our daily life and we are all relying on them very much. However, these things are as well becoming an addiction for some of us and it is good that once a while we move away from these gadgets.

People before didn't have all of these technology to pamper themselves and they were fine without them. I think people are really capable of doing so as long as they don't know that these types of technology exist. If people don't have any idea about them, then they would be content of what they have and still continue living..

So what you are trying to say is that once a gadget or new technology has been introduced, it first becomes a luxury amd later on, it becomes a necessity when its usage cannot be dispense anymore because it has been transformed into a thing used for everyday living.

Maybe. But most of the time, it's not really as a necessity but more of a choice. Things like the washing machine or the rice cooker may still be considered luxury by some who believe that they can always do their functions by themselves. Also, given the cellphone as an example, we are fine now with all the basic ones. Some models are more of novelties already and we know more models are yet to be invented. But like what I am saying, we are fine with what we already have now. (Hey! We are from the same school..hehe)

Oh, I probably could live without all the technology, but it makes things so much easier than in years past, so I really wouldn't want to give up my computer or all the electronic gadgets that I use in my daily life. My cousin and I send emails to each other at least twice a day. It's always nice to turn on the computer and have the whole world of news available, earn a few pennies and keep in touch with friends and family.
Even my sewing machine is computerized which makes sewing a breeze and so much easier than when I first learned to sew. Of course, all the gadgets in the kitchen are favorites as well. Please don't ever take my dishwasher away! LOL

I cannot even think life without gadgets or without today's technology. It would be life with no meaning and nothing to do except for eating and sleeping the whole day.
I cannot live without my TV, computer and my mobile. And they all are a boon to man.

Hi, werdan, in my opinion, i pretty agree with your point. electronical gadgets change our life, and now it to be necessary for living, present society is an efficient development society, people around the worldwide have got a strong feeling with high technical product development. if we live and work without these gadgets, we will feel teerible and miserable. so , I think, we should carry up to the step of society development. otherwise, someday, you will get words like "out". and then you will be aware you are really out of the main fashionalbe things.

Man is a creature of habit, but flexible like rubber. We have load shedding here sometimes running to several hours at which time I have to do without the computer, tv, music, etc. If my washing is in the washing machine and there is no current the workload is greater and so also if my mixie stops working. The list is endless. But I survive it all when the situation is worse than what it was when I was without any of these gizmos.Cool it werdan. It is not that bad at all. We can still survive. Have you experienced getting stuck in a lift for hours with strangers for company? Have you experienced no water in the house because the system failed - I could go on but suffice it to say we will still survive.

I think I can live without them... I mean, my parents studied in the dark when they were kids. Yes, I think I can BUT it would be very difficult given that I grew up with electricity and gadgets like the computer and cellphone. It's hard to imagine myself writing or using a typewriter for my school or work reports! Nor sending messages through mail and having to wait for days or maybe weeks for a response.

When I was very young, I've experience using a typewriter and was a great pain. You would have to set the paper to make it staight and prevent the lines from manner. Moreover, every mistake you make is very difficult to correct unless, you have a powder which could cover the ink with white stuff. Nevertheless, that too, is difficult to use!!!!\
Thanbk God, the computer was born!!! Whoo! :)

I can't live a day without my mobile phone, it's my life actually. Since my BF is working in another place we use it for communication, as well as the computer. I find these gadgets important for communication, not just with family members but to my friends. You get the information you need from all over the world. It makes life much easier and fast. :)

i dont mind not having my mobile phone. On weekends, i usually put it on silent mode or even turn it off, so that i can have some 'me' time. However, both hubby and me simply cant do without laptop...that is a must have!!! we spend more than 12 hours a day in front of our laptop. i felt that it's not a good thing, we can focus more on each other without this...but it's simply too addictive

No I cannot.
The computer especially, is very important for me. I get to communicate with my husband (who is abroad) through the internet. I also earn money through online money making. With the internet, I get in touch with my friends and relatives abroad.

I could live without them, but I weouldn't want to have to. As far as television goes, it is rarely on in my house unless my husband turns it on. I only have a cell phone because I work for myself and want to be sure that my family is able to get ahold of me during the day if they need to. My computer is used mainly for trying to increase my income, so I would miss it if I didn't have it. I have lived with only the very basic of necessities before, so I know I could survive and provide for my family, technology just seems to make things a lot easier.
I think that it is very important that people make sure that they do know how to survive without the things we all use on a daily basis. I am talking about survivng off the land and knowing how to do things without the aid of computers and such. If we forget those things, we will surely be in trouble if we are ever faced with not having them. Another thing I think is inportant to remember is that a computer is only as smart as the person(s) who created it, they are not infallible.

I can't continue my daily life without my cellphone and laptop.
In my eyes, some gadgets, such as laptop and the Internet have become the necessities of our life. Without them, it is obvious that we may not continue our work, lose lot of ways for entertainment, and can't keep in touch with my friends, especially friends online.
Perhaps some people hold the idea that we can live a life without all the gadgets and technology for our last generation can have a good time without them. But for us and our next generation, it is impossible completely if we live in a world without all the gadgets and the new technology.

Maybe, only if I'm stuck in an island away from civilization. The one without any means of technologies as what you have mentioned. It would ended me up taken as the movie "Cast Away". Nice one, without those technologies and gadgets.

It is possible but without technology, there is no recreation, communication or fun. Is is still possible to live life without technology by just eating food and reproducing alone. But you can't live life to the fullest. You get what i mean?It is true that we are dependent on these things as these bring people together. Technology has transformed our lives
