Cats acting strangely

Has anyone else noticed their cats acting strangely now that the weather is turning cooler? Mine seem to be more active and they chase each other around the house and act like they've been into some locoweed. One night they acted like they were stalking something in the house, but we never found a mouse or anything else they might have been after. Maybe this is just normal, but they seem more jittery than usual.

Sorry wish I could help you but my cats are battier than a cave. We have a litter of 5 kittens who are about 13 weeks old and they're driving me crazy! It sounds like the horse races in my hallway all night. Cats like cooler weather though, probably so they can lay in the sun longer and not get too hot. The little solar panels...

Wow! You have to be a fellow writer! Love your turns of phrase! You reminded me of something, too, re energy & cats. One very dry winter night I couldn't sleep, & was amusing myself by running a finger down my woolen blanket, generating Lilliputian lightening bolts, some bright enough to cast shadows. Then, one of my cats jumped up onto the blanket, & zzzzzzzzapp!! We both got a shock, & I actually saw sparks arcing from us! Science at play! Maggiepie A TRAITOR DESERVES TO BE IMPEACHED

Well, just ask yourself: how much fun would it be for you to leap about & gambol gaily while wearing a heavy fur coat in stifling 3-digit heat? Maggiepie A TRAITOR DESERVES TO BE IMPEACHED

I haven't noticed a change in my cats when weather is hot or cold. But, if they are sick, I will notice a change. But a negative one, not a positive one.

The only change I've noticed in Harmony is that she wants her lunch at 10:30am now that Daylight Savings Time is over...

Thanks for your reply. I hadn't heard the term "cat weather" before but it is a good name for it. My 2 cats were certainly lazy all summer and spent most of their time sleeping. They didn't seem to like the hot weather very much.

my cat acts the same as before. he hasnt changed yet. maybe your cats sense something in the area, like certain weather conditions about to happen or something. i remember my late pets hated storms, and they used to freak out in a storm. my current cat freaked when when there was an earthquake.

It's a week later now, and Harmony has taken to serenading me at 7:00am. She sings sweetly, but I'd rather sleep another hour. (She won't stop until I get up.)

winter ya-yas. mine do it too.. i think maybe it's because it's cooler in general,so they're not as sluggish as they were in summer.
