I'm proud of the Phillies and though it feels so bittersweet I look forward to seeing them next year and thinking their gonna go out their and get back into the Championship. I think they played awesome the 8th inning where they kept getting outs on the Yankees and thats bittersweet too, a little too late?
I know one thing, I won't be becoming a Yankees fan,lol.

I'm an original New Yorker so I'm so happy the Yankee's won again, the 27th time. The most of any baseball team. Its a great day. The Phillies played their best and someone has to win and I it was the Yankees turn. GO YANKEES! I just wish I could be on Broadway in New York on Friday to attend the parade like I did the last time they won.

The last time they were in the world series was back in 2001 they lost. They haven't won in nine years (2000) they were overdue!

Hi revellanotvanella, bittersweet is the word. I think the Phillies are awesome even if they didn't win this World Series. I think they tried their best but some of the players (Howard) just couldn't get that spark. It's rare to see Ryan Howard not hit as he could have. But they are still the best in my heart. The first game of the Series was just mind blowing awesome and I think that's what I'll stay with until next season.

I did want to mention Chase Utley, my absolute favorite Phillies player! He played outstanding.

I'm from NY and I'm not a Yankee fan. I've been a redsox fan since '98 and I follow the mets. The Yankees haven't won the world series since 2000 so it's about time that they finaly spent money on buying another championship and after all these years it finally paid off. It want even competative for them during the season. I don't have any respect for CC sabathia or teixeira or Burnett because those guys came in and took the easy way out buy comming to the Yankees and winning the world series their 1st year with the team. I hope other major league players don't start running to the yankees at the end of their contracts looking for the easy way to make it to the world series.
But as for the phillies, the one problem they had besides Ryan Howard not producing at the plate, was the fact that they were living off of cliff lee. The only 2 games they won was when he pitched. Cole hamels hasn't pitched as well as he did last season. And even though Pedro is still a decent player, he's only in the game to give you about 5 innings, maybe 6 the most. Charlie Manuel had no faith in his bullpen at all. That's the reason he left Pedro in the game too long in game 2. After he gave up the homerun yo matsui, he should've came out. Pedros fastball in game 6 was only reaching 85 mph. That's not going to cut it against the Yankees lineup.

Your right, the Phillies needed to come through 100%. I just hope we have Manuel around to see another world series.

No. I don't. I don't understand how they did not see that Pedro was sick with the flu in the last game. By the end of the first inning I could see that he did not have any of his good stuff, and that they should have pulled him and put in Happ. I have been a Philadelphia Phillie fan since 1958 when I could start to understand the game. I look forwrd to the next season and I am counting the days (about 115) for pitchers and cathers to report. May they all come back healthy, and ready to get it on. Go Phillies!!!

I'm also proud of the Phillies I have been a fan over 38 years and have seen a lot of losing till they got to the 2000s when they have been averaging over 85 wins a year.Best of all they made it to two strait world series something no Phillies fan has never seen. The Phillies didn't play their best games in the series but one thing I know is ecept for Cliff Lee their pitching problems were exposed and it also did't help playing the Yankees who have the highet payroll and can buy the bst players.Still I can't wait for next season to start.

good point with the payroll, some of those players got in to the world series pretty easy.
