I'm making seeds/beans sprouts at home, it's nice to have cheap vegs. Problem is when the sprouts are ready to eat they release the 'seed envelope', say, for sunflower seeds it's that black/white envelope, the sprouts gets out of there and leaves it. I want to find a method to remove those 'empty shells' so they don't mix with my sprouts. Don't know how to do, do you remove them? Any clue?

Just put enough water on it and the seed envelopes will float while the bean sprout will be at the bottom. have a good day.

That's a good idea! So today I ate them with the envelopes in between, next time I'll try that. Hope it works! Thanks a lot!!

interesting.I've never known before that a westerners eats beans sprout.I thoght it was only easterners, especially Chinese and Koreans who eat such vegs.I once cultivated them, for fun,not for food.it's amusing to watch beans sprouting.

After soaking the bean in the water, just press gently the husk/shell, it will come out easily, after removing the shell you can tie the beans in a clean cloth to start the sprouting process. But sprouted corns with skin is healthier as it contains plenty of fibre.

I also think the best way is put the beans or seeds in the water, and the empty ones will float on the water, then you can pick them out easily, hah! Happy everyday!
