How many eggs can a hen lay per day??????

Hi,
I have always heard that a hen can lay only one egg a day. Because i saw a hen that lays 2 eggs a day. One is a normal egg with shell in the morning and the other is an egg without shell in the evening. Is this normal? Has anyone heard about this???????????????????????

yup it's normal, but it depend on the season, hen's reproductive cycle generally lasts 24 hours during the summer months, her cycle is set by day lenght, as the day shorten, and winter approaches, a hen will lay fewer eggs, skipping some days, some hen's stop lying egg all together until the spring arrives, the reason behind this is that winter is a bad time to raise chicks-cold weather decreases chicks chance of survival..."i lay my eggs on you, all i wanna do...."
