I need some honest opinions out there.
My opinion is simple. I believe that money CAN buy happiness to a certain extent. Giving how you are raised, and many other situations, may change the way you feel of this.
A lot peoples lives are miserable because of their money situation. The rate of divorces caused by money are up like crazy.
It can't buy love, or a family to have, but it could make what you have, a lot better!
My 2 cents....

Of course not. Money is maybe powerful but there is no way it can ever buy happiness. Just to illustrate this, In China, most women have to find a man to marry who is wealthy. However there are many cases where women find it miserable to be with a man whom they really do not love and cannot adjust to. They find their life disastrous even if their husband buy them everything they want. In short, money is not everything, you know! !

It can go both ways I guess. The way I'm coming from, is growing up, not so wealthy, or even poor, and to live the life like that, and all of a sudden fall into money, you have a greater respect for that money, by not taking advantage of it, and fulfilling everything you've ever dreamed of doing for the rest of your life.
And if were raised in a wealthy family, you don't know anything else but riches, and expect everything. So nothing will every progress in your life.

Money can't buy love but it can buy happiness. That's the reason why the women in china find their love disastrous marrying men whom they do not love. We can not say that they do not become happy at any point of their marriage life. Of course, they were. It can buy happiness but it can NEVER BUY JOY.

Hi kaushaldalal: I didn't mean that you can't be happy with money. In fact i think that it's easier to be happy if you have money, that means that you don't have to deal with some daily problems that poor people actually have to think on them everyday. If you're reach, you find god and you want to be a better person, helps others, be good with you're family you'll be a very happy man. In most cases, at least i think we all can be happy no matter the amount of money we have. Thanks for your answer.

Honestly, I think money can buy things that will lead to your happiness. I think that if you can afford to look beautiful (makeup, hair, nails, clothes, etc.), then you can get a wonderful husband. If you can afford an education, you can get a degree to get the job that will make you happy. If you can't get the degree, if your rich enough, you can buy your way into anything. Money can't get you into heaven though. That is the main thing. So, no. I don't believe money can buy happiness. If you don't get into heaven, then what else matters?

Hi,
Good question Colu41.
How do you define HAPPINESS?
If one's happiness relies on money then he/she may be satisfied.
You mentioned yourself that LOVE cannot be bought by money right?
So what is HAPPINESS then?
Life is too complicated. But ... it's very simple to be happy.

Money has different meaning to every one. Money for a person dying of hunger could be his salvation. (In the physical form). Money for a normal person could be a goal for him to gather. Money for a rich person could be his/her comparison. Money for a very very rich person could be nothing.

"Rich people are not who have the most, they're who need the least." Simply because they have money, so they can buy a lot of things they want, I think money can buy part of happiness if we use it wisely. And we can get the most of anything if we use money wisely. Money IS important, but it's not everything. It's the basic of living, the base to have more happiness.

Hello,
For my own opinion, I dont think money can buy happiness... It could works out for people have money mind. Happiness is depend on you, not something that you can find. Only people that he/she doesn't what truth love or what happiness means to them... then they will think money will does it all.
I have money but if I dont have happiness then it still the same thing... Poor forever...
however, you might be right... money can buy everything, even hous, cars... everything even your lover. But if you use money to buy all of those and one day you have nothing, do you think your lover still stay with you? 1% does.

indeed money can't buy happiness. But t the same time, we can't survive life with just happiness at hand. Will the family behappy without a piece of bread on the table?
Indeed you can't trade love or your faily for money, but in order to make them happy too, and for your happiness of having them survive, I guess we always need a piece of cent. We can't tell our family. " we have 'I love you' for dinner. and a bunch of hugs and kisses for breakfast." and expect them to be happy in the end."

I used to think that money cannot buy happiness. My opinion has changed since; i've seen people being so happy when they're able to buy something at a shopping centre, when they're able to visit that very place they have been dreaming of and tell the story. Yes, money can buy happiness; however, it is only temporary. Sadness will creep in when you abuse the money that you have.
That's my stand.

thanks for the invite, Colu. :-) Honestly, I don't believe that money can buy happiness. Though money is essential to survive but it can not give us everything that we desire. There things such as love, inner peace and joy that money can't buy.Think for example the many successful artists which appear to be happy because they have all the glory and riches in the world but took their own lives because of depression or those simple living folks around you who despite of lack of money, they still feel happy and content because they have each other to lean on and love. .Have a good life, my friend.:-)

Hello Colu... In my opinion. Money can only buy a happiness that is limited. I think that nothing in this world can buy eternal happiness which is a very great blessing for those who have receive this blessing. I think money is just having to you buy your wants that is why many think that money can really buy happiness, but if you see the happiness money gives, it is only for a certain time and then the happiness will be gone.
I am not saying money is not that important. But on the other sense, I think money can buy happiness because I have seen many people becoming angry if they don't have any money. They tend to steal, involve in a fight and other bad doings. It is for you to decide my friend if money can really buy you the happiness you are longing for or just a happiness that will pass away as time passes.
Have a good day and happy mylotting. Excellent discussion. Enjoy.

hi there...
i think it can bring a lot of happiness.. and again more than 95% of human problems are directly or indirectly related to money.. so some or the other way happiness has a great deal of connection with money..accept or not that is a fact..
cheers..

Happiness is within yourself. You choose to make yourself as happy or unhappy as you want.
You look at the celebs that have a lot of money. How many of them go from relationship to relationship and are so unhappy. It amounts to having a lot of money takes a lot of challenge out of life. You don't really need to work, scrimp, save, plan how to pay your bills or any of the other life situations that we have to face on a daily basis. It sounds so wonderful that a person has a lot of money and doesn't have to work, but it leads to boredom and restlessness.
Yes, I would like to have enough money to be comfortable and not worry big time about my bills, but I don't want to be rich...second thought I don't want to be rich until the last few years of my life; and my family can get excited thinking that when I die they're going to get my money. Then they can have fits when the will is read and everything goes to charity.

Money can't buy happiness even your salvation but all of us need money to exist in this world. Every time we move we need money and financial problems sometimes makes the situation of the people worst. Yes in some extend money can makes you happy temporarily but later on you feel that something is missing.

hi, money can buy many things and we all need it. money can give a better life to me and my family.money can buy a big house, expensive car and many other things we want. moreover, money can buy a wife ,a husband, other legal and illegal things. but, you can't buy true love.and, you can't recognise whether they love you or they like your money. money can only give you a plentiful life, but money can't buy happy. I think money is not the most important, owning a sweet lover, harmonious family and some bosom friends will lend you to a happy life.

Practically yes, but mentally no. There is no point to have so much money owning a big house and luxurious car but you can't even find yourself a companion to share your joy and pleasures right? =)
