Do you like tattoos? Do you have any tattoos? Do you think a person can have too many tattoos?
I do have a tattoo on my back, so I don't see it all the time and sometimes forget I have one. It's over 10 years old and needs a touch-up. I remember how painful it was to get it done so I am hesitant to get it touched up. I don't like it when people have tattoos all over their bodies - for me that's taking it to the extreme. What if you don't like it in 10 or 20 years?

i have a few,i like them.
i've designed my own,and i put a lot of thought into it before actually having it inked on.i'll still like them in 20 years.
i have one that could use a touch up,it's about 19 years old-but only the outline the color's still good.

Original tattoos are the only way to go. My husband and I designed his first tat together and it's awesome. We've been working on his second one for about a year (not continuously obviously). It's definitely permanent and you have to love it. A tattoo artist once told us that at one stage he got so many requests for dolphin tattoos. He eventually told people he was out of stock. I thought that was amusing.

I am attracted to guys who have lots of tattoos. I don't know why but for me, its hot. I also want to have tattoos but they said that you cannot be able to donate a blood when needed. That is what I am afraid of. Because I am the only person who has the same blood type as my mom. So everytime when I am thinking of having a permanent tattoos, I used henna so I could easily erase it.

I am also afraid of what if I gain weight or I loose more weight. Isn't the tattoo will be stretch or whatsoever? It will look ugly.
But thanks for the info about blood donating. :) Now I know. I should consider it sometime.

Hi Bubble. I also find guys with tattoos appealing. One or two really nice ones though. I'm not into all over tattoos.
Just about the blood donating - you are right but you can't donate for ONE year. It's not for the rest of your life. You should speak to your local blood donation centre and ask about it. I know my husband couldn't donate for a year but he can now. They are afraid of Hep C.

Dose maybe count as a yes? lol well I guess I should explain, for a long time I've thought of getting just one tattoo on my ankle, but I'm still thanking about it for many reasons I've heard that a person can get haptidice, and other illness from getting tattoo's and its really painful, but I dont see anything wrong with an adult getting a tattoo if its by a safe and experienced tattoo artist. as for getting more then one, I dont really think it looks too good all over the body because if a person gets more then one tattoo, and they have to go into the workforce having to many tattoos might make it difficult to get certain jobs, and in my opinion they dont look to good in conservative clothing such as strapless dress, and elegant evening gowns, suites and so on. but as for tattoos in general I think they can be cool if discreetly placed.

I agree that we should never discriminate towards any one, but unfortunately thats the world we live in right now, as I said I think tattoos can be cool but in some instance's they may not always look appropriate to some people especially in the work force but no matter what our personal views might be we should always treat others with respect and understanding.

Hi Apples. You can get illnesses from tattoos, most common is Hep C but it's more than likely to happen from dirty needles. And with HIV so rife in the world you have to make sure the tattoo artist opens the needles in front of you. I would insist on it. If the artist is not prepared to do that, then I will not have a tattoo done that's for sure.
I don't think a person should be judged in the workforce just because they have a visible tattoo. Your mind has nothing to do with what is on your body. That's like discriminating between a fat and a skinny person. It shouldn't be done but unfortunately it is.

I personally dislike tattoos I think I'm the only one on the planet earth that dislikes them. I love healthy clean unblemished skin that God gave you.
I guess I grew up in a time when only crooks and prisoners got tatoos, as well as some servicemen in the Navy. If someone has had a tattoo at that time it usually denoted an antisocial individual. Nowadays it seems people get tattoos to fit into their social crowd. It almost seems rebellious not to get tattoos of getting tattoos helped to fit into your crowd. Sometimes tattoos also designate gang affiliations.
If you want to have a tattoo I do not judge you as it is your own body but I cannot pretend that I like them and they're certainly not for me.

Yes I agree, a tattoo was once a form of rebellion. Now it seems to be a form of conformity.

I have them so my answer would be yes, I do like tattoos. I think "too many" depends on the individual but yes, for me, I think some people do have one too many. I don't mind the pain though so in case I do need a touch up, I wouldn't mind getting one. If I didnt like my tattoo anymore, I guess the only thing left to do is to get it lasered.

Thanks goodness for lasers - lol. The tattoo artists are so brilliant these days that they are able to tattoo over old tattoos as well.

I am a huge fan of tattoos but only have two at the moment...i was suppose to get another one done back in Oct when my son got his first but didnt have enough money for both..Hopefully I'll be able to get one in Dec though and eventually I'll have several all over.....
Do I think anyone can get tats? sure why not??

Well if a person gets whatever off the flash wall on a whime then yes I could see how later in life they may regret it..or getting a bf/gfs name done etc..For me though all the tats I'll be getting are VERY important, personal and special to me and my life so even when I'm in my 80s I'll doubt I'll regret that I got them.

I have seen people with tattoos all over their faces, which is not something you can cover up one day. However, in saying that, each person to his own I suppose. Personally, I wouldn't but I am sure they thought it through carefully before going ahead with a full facial tattoo.

Hello, I for one do like tattoo's when you don't have to many. I have 3 tattoos for now till I go get more in the future. I do believe that a person can have to many tattoos. Well for me my 3 are well hidden to a point. I have one on the back of my neck that I will say that hurt the most. I have another on my upper arm and one on my left calf. So mine can be hidden so that if I was to have a job it won't interfere with it. For me I make sure that I get tattoos that I know that I will like for many years to come. My oldest tattoo is 4 years old.

i like tats, it's so intriguing for me, there are tats are so expressive and some are not, but my problems is my wife doesn't want my skin to be ink so i got never chance to have one, but if my wife permits it like to have tribal wire tats from my right shoulder down to my tummy and butt....if you no longer appreciate you tats you can remove it, ask the help of tats expert or doctors..

Tough one to get past - the wife. Unfortunately tattoos are something people either love or hate. If you really want one then I do hope your wife allows you to get one. Maybe just start with the band on your arm and let that grow on her first before you get the rest done. She might just love it! I love my tat - it just needs to re-coloured, it's faded over time.

Yes tattoos are permanent - they use a needle so it does go through your skin. So definitely if you don't like tattoos then you should stick to temporary or henna tattoos. I'm not so sure about getting skin cancer from it, not an expert on that.

I personally like tattoos and plan on getting a few when I am old enough. Some people don't like it when people cover themselves in tattoos but artists like Dallas Green have made it popular. Everyone of his tattoos represents a point in his life that is important to him and that he doesn't want to forget. A tattoo is a personal thing and shouldn't be done just to be cool.

I agree with you Blank. It is personal. And when there is true meaning in a tat or, like you mentioned, it tells a story, then go for it. However, too many people walk into a tattoo parlour and get whatever - there's no meaning. I can remember when lower back tattoos became popular for girls to have - too many of my friends had them done because they were in fashion.

I personally love tattoos! I currently have 10 of them and when I tell people that they are truly shocked... They never expect it b/c they are all strategically placed. None of them have been planned either. All of them were completely random thoughts and ideas. If I ever took the time to actually attempt to plan one out I think I would go insane!!!! When I get the urge for a tattoo I need to go get one right then and there. No thinking and I have no regrets with any of them so far :)... As for the pain- its over before it even begins.. I suffer from bipolar and depression and tend to get tattoos when i'm experiencing the lower end of the sickness so i tend to redirect the pain i like to think... but the pain is done as soon as the tattoo is over and they dont take long at all... As a creative person I like the way my tattoos express me. They say so much without saying anything.. Especially when people interpret them in so many different ways.

I have found that very creative people have more tattoos than 'normal' peeps and possibly for the reason you mentioned - self-expression. It's cool!

I don't have any tatoos.....never had a desire to. I really don't care what others do to their bodies as far as stuff like this. It's a personal choice. If someone wants to cover their body in artwork then that is their choice. I wouldn't do it but that's my choice.

I have one and want more but am stuck at mixed feelings because of religious beliefs and soft of being against changing the human body. I still want 2 more, regardless of whether I get them or not. They're really art, they can look really good or really tacky all depends on the image, location, etc. I do think tattoos all over the body is a little overboard though....
