Hi mylotters,
As winter season is started arriving in india our body harmonal are also reacting on it. Every year when winter comes one of my fren get lots of dandruff. He don't have this problem during summer but mainly during winter. So, i have suggested him to put lemon juice. Just take a lemon and squeeze out the juice and apply directly on scalp, massage it very well over the scalp. This really helps to get rid of danndruff for a month. one can continue applying when it gets increase again. If you have more knowledge for treating dandruff with naturally i would love to know more coz mine also tends to get more sometimes. Thanks

Choose the right shampoo and conditioner for you. Wash your hair thoroughly. Make sure there's no more traces of shampoo or conditioner because it will trigger or create more flakes and dandruff too.

oh sorry if i did not have any innovative response for your discussion. be happy that i did share what i know based on what i experienced with my family who had dandruff, he changed shampoo and washed his hair thoroughly and his dandruff was cured. so be appreciative enough. i took the time to respond here not to be insulted by your response. better not respond if that's your way of affirming your responders comments. this made me feel bad!

Hi anjalisharma_iipm, i would suggest lime juice mixed with egg white, just massage it on to your scalp and keep it for about 10 to 15 minutes and rinse. after the rinsing dry your hair with a towel and massage your scalp with coconut oil while the hair is still slightly moist as it absorbs the oil more efficiently when a little damp. the above method has been tried and tested by me, it works wonders. i also suffer from dry and flaky scalp during the winter months.

how about trying some home remedies? try hot oil therapy, it is the best method to cure dandruff, massage hot oil into the scalp at bedtime, the following morning an hour before your shower, rub lemon or lime juice mixed with light vinegar into your scalp with cotton, wash your hair properly and as last rinse use the juice of one lemon or lime in a cup of hot water..continue this home treatment once or twice a week until dandruff is gone..

hello kush20006
i guss curd is good for hairs but it makes skin so dry, which is also responsible for dandruff.

I am from Sri Lanka. I was staying in Crowne Plaza Hotel, New Delhi from 31 October to 6 November for a training program. The weather was not at all cold during that time. But after we came back to Sri Lanka, we heard that winter is arriving in India. So we are both lucky and unlucky to miss the winter.
Coming to dandruff, I think just bathing once a day is enough to keep it under control. One can brush her hair while bathing to make sure that the dandruff is washed clean.

When I get dandruff I use head and shoulders. Just the one bottle, then I can go back to regular shampoo.
I have also heard said that people with dandruff should not massage there head to strong while washing there hair. This tends to make the dandruff worse.
You should rinse the hair out with slightly cold water. Not hot water.
People with a lot of stress get more dandruff too.
Good luck.

The only thing that works for me is an anti-dandruff shampoo. I buy it as a two in one with the conditioner already built-in. I use either Head and Shoulders or Pantene anti dandruff 2in1 shampoo.
These particular shampoos have zinc in them and it works for me. There are other shampoos like Nizorol which is supposed to kill the yeast that causes dandruff. There are also other coal tar shampoos that work for some people.
I have never tried the lemon juice solution. But I would guess with the addition of a little oil it would make your hair clean and shiny.

What really helps cure dandruff is by massaging oil on your scalp. It was because of the season that makes your scalp dry. All it really needs is nourishment and oil does it best.
