sometimes going to grocery takes me an hour to do the shopping, if they didn't have this loud christmas music at the store, i would take my mp3 player, so any ideas or tips how can i make grocery shopping after work less tedious?

I make a grocery list and stick to it. I try hard to never buy any extra goodies. Also, I bring my husband and this passes the time well. I also go over rthe weekend so I am not rushed. I plan a menu during the week and make sure I buy everything at once.

Your welcome. I remember when my husband's mother had been alive and she would take different medicines. I always made sure that she never ran out and would go without for a few days. My little trick was that I would take a weeks worth of her medication and hide it some place where only I knew where it was. That way when she began getting low all I had to do was call her Doctor and say "ok, we need to reorder ____ she is down to her last few pills. Also, when she needed to make Drs appointments I always called and arranged them for her. I wrote down her appointments on the calendar and also left a note on the fridge so her son would see it. I figured he went to the fridge often and I knew he would see it there.

Hello Bart78,
I agree with grocery shopping is tedious work especailly if you have coupons and they put the items in another area of the store or they are out of the item and then you need to get a rain check etc... I try to have my coupons in the order of the store layout if possible. The ipod is good trick to take way the store music.
I try to make it game on quickly I can get in and get out of the store not always easy. Also I try go early morning when there is hardly anyone there so I really fined the items without bumping into someone or moving there cart because they left in the center of the ailse etc. I tried to read the magazines in the checkout line that way I do not have to buy them. I work in grocery store for like 2 years and it is not easy. I hear you on that.
Have a great day

I really dispise thise during the holidays. There are so many more people in the store or newbies trying to find something and they ask you questions etc.. I do my best to answer them but it cuts in my time and me finding what I need too.
Thanks for the reply
Have a great day

What I always do is just make a list beforehand. I just figure out the dinner I plan on fixing and then small things for lunch and snacks that I know I'm going to eat and isn't just going to sit in my fridge. Then once I'm at the store I just go down the aisles I know I need to and get everything on my list and I allow myself 1-2 extra items. A good thing about this is you also don't buy more than you need to.
The best thing I've learned to do is also not to go to the grocery store hungry. You're more likely to grab everything your stomach might be craving.
But also try to figure out the times that the grocery store isn't that busy. My grandpa hates grocery shopping so when he has to go, he'll go to Walmart at like midnight cause he knows no one is going to be there.
