Compaq machines have a 'Recovery' partition that should restore the machine back to the way it was when you bought it. This is a small partition (about 2Gb) that is usually hidden. If you didn't mess with the partitions when you installed XP, it should still be there.
To access it, turn off the machine completely and then switch on and press the F1 key repeatedly as it starts up until you see 'Entering Setup'. Just follow the prompts from there.
Naturally, you should backup all the data you want to keep before you do this because it will format the C: drive (partition) and everything on it, including any data and programs you have installed, will be lost. It will be (or should be) exactly as it was on the day you bought it.
You will probably be asked to enter your Windows key. This is usually on a label on the underside of the laptop, so make a note of it before you start. You will also be asked to verify your (re)installation of Windows. You can do this online or by phone to a call center in your country. The details will be in the documentation which came with your computer.

Anything online, of course, such as MyLot, will not be affected. You simply log in with your username and password and ask the browser to remember your password (if you want).

Installing a new operating system won't prevent you from logging on to sites. The only limitation that some operation systems have is that you won't be able to use certain programs since not all programs, or the proper driver for certain applications won't be compatible with the operating system. For example, I use a Mac and just recently upgraded to Snow Leopard but now my anti-virus no longer works because it's not compatible with it yet. However, everything else is the same; I can use the same sites, and do everything the same way.

No just save all your password and logins in the notepad and print them or save themin another drive, install vista on the different drive, if your laptop has only one partition and you do not know how to crate another partition simply print the documents or copy them to a cd to retrieve them later format and load vista, it will install auto and you don't need specific OS to assess any sites, may be the performance of your browser will improve after installing vista.

Hello,
Changing the OS on your laptop should not pose any problems.Just make sure that you copy all your files and any other important data on a removable drive such as a pen drive so that you can later on transfer all that data to your newly installed hard drive and OS.

Hello,
Yes there will be no problems to your mylot or any other money making sites account if you install Windows Vista in Your PC again.I think the only problem can be in your vista activation if you install windows vista from any pirated installation source.Be careful about that and don't worry much about your mylot account, just keep participating in mylot daily and you can earn more money than any other money making sites.
Happy Mylotting.

Mostly, the operation system cannot affect your action to surf the net, but sometimes you would have problems when isntall the software.

mylot is not specific with the operating system of our computers. any OS will do as long as you can browse the internet with your browser. mylot is not even specific with the type of browsers we are using. so you have no problem about your computer and mylot, you can change your OS anytime.

Hi tabrezhaani69, definitely no problem, switching OS has nothing to do with your mylot or any other money earning sites you are registered to as long as you know you website, your username and password, you will still be able to login to those sites so you are free to go back to vista.
