I have been having major trouble with my mouse. It is a MI (Micro Innovations ) optical mouse. It seems to have a mind of its own. When I single click to correct a typo or close a window it registers as a double click and highlights an entire paragraph or closes two windows. It is really bugging me! Do I have a virus that is not being detected by my AVG anti-virus? I did a google search on the problem I have been having and found that Tweak UI was supposed to help with certain problems. It worked for maybe a day but now it is back to the same thing. Please help! Thanks
Sincerely in Christ,

If it isn't a problem with the mouse or hardware it might be worth reading through this link http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
even if the problem is fixed its a good idea to look through these steps anyway; its for general virus removal and computer cleaning/speeding up iv found it very useful personally

Hello Leesa,
When did this problem start, was it after an installation...
You can go to startAll programsAccesoriesSystem ToolsSystem Restore, and check the last check point, but be careful the restore to the day that you do... You will probably loose all the data you processed after that day.
The other options, is to try another mouse and check whether its a hardware failure or not.
Best of luck

it could happen due to-
1. mouse driver not properly installed
2. dust in mouse key
3. key bad
4. uneven (surface/color) mouse base
solution:
1. check if any driver is installed, remove and reinstall
2. clean mouse - if you dont know how to open just clean exterllay (may not help much)
3. cleaning may solver or you can replace the key (or mouse itself)
4.keep black mouse pad on even surface (atleast never use white pad with optical mouse)
i hope i was helpfull
