Have you noticed that everything seems to revolve around money all the time. There are lots of things that we can not do unless we have money todo them.Life is revolved around workinghard to earnmoney just to pay the bills. It seems that thats all our life is working,as in my husband is doing work and me trying to earn online aswell as making cards to sell to pay the bills.

Hi jugsjugs,
Money is not everything but it sure helps to make life easier. At the end of the day it is us the people of this world that have shaped it and I think we are to blame for everything revolving around money, That's my thoughts anyway.

Money or lack of it, seems to be used as a measure of success. With money, you can buy the big house, car, good college for your children and all the "toys" you want. Money also brings power. You can influence the people around you and your voice will be heard.
It's funny because I went to a Catholic high school. We all wore the same school uniform and yet, it was very easy for the teachers to pick out the "wealthy students" who were sometimes afforded special treatment.
All that being said, I believe that the true measure of success is being a good person and valuable to your friends, family and community. Money, however, does make the journey easier.

Believe me, I understand. My husband (in construction) went without work for so long that we are still trying to pay off bills that we got while he was not working. It seems harder and harder the more we try because everything gets more expensive every week. We have cut back about as much as we can and are whittling away at those bills the best we can. Good Luck! I hope we see a better economy soon and that will help all of us.

I was unable to get a rented house so we had to get a mortgage, which is alot more than rent and like anything else you have to pay that bill as otherwise you loose the roof over your head. The other bills also seem to keep going up all the time even when you are trying to cut down using things like the dryer to save money and there never seems to be any money left.

I knew someone once who said that money is just the way we keep score on things. I do know that it is hard to do anything or get anywhere without a goodly supply or source of money. I know lots of people who work two jobs. Sometimes we work for what we need, other times it is just for what we want.

I do think that it is a shame that nowadays that there seems to be no time to spend with our loved ones as well as being able to relax due to having to work alot of long hours just to pay all those bills that seem to be rising all the time.So to pay the bills we all have to work more hours.

Money is important, it is an exchange to buy food to buy materials, clothes, house, cars and all that we needed especially medicines. We have to have money to buy what we needed that is why you said it revolves around money. If there are people kind enough to just give you food for free you are very lucky, but truthfully we can't have food if we will not buy it and use money as payment. I believe that our lives revolves in money so everyone of us is working hard to have it and some of us are saving for much more spending in the near future.

There are ways for us not to worry about money all the time. We have to have passive income.

"Money is the root of all evil". So they say. Who knows when it started to happen....money becoming the all important thing. The growth of capitalism. We're in a vicious cycle. Greed has driven the prices of goods and services to all-time highs. Like you say, all you can do is work to pay the bills. Is that living? And like jugsjugs said, it's our own fault. As consumers we let corporations get away with charging whatever they want for stuff because we continue to pay it. There used to be a time that people would join together and boycott products or companies if they got "out of control". Seems to me, people just don't care any more. We pay it and don't do anything about it. We, the human race, have allowed the big money people to control our existence for so long we don't know any better. I just don't see how we can change it now. In the eyes of most, I am considered to be a poor person. Probably close to poverty level by most standards but I don't care. I can pay my bills, put food on the table and every once in a while have enough cash to get or do something "special". It's enough for me. I refuse to get caught up in the whole capitalistic mindset. It's just not that important to me. I live simply. I don't have the latest electronic gadgets, latest fashion trends. I don't own a car or buy brand name products. It's a mindset, you know? It really depends on how important "things" are to you. There's only so much "money" to go around and at the rate some governments are printing it, soon it won't have much value at all. One of my credos is:
Live simply so that others may simply live.

Actually, the quote is "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". You are absolutely right about the greed. No bank manager should be getting a million dollar bonus and some of these company CEO's getting millions. I believe it's good to get a bonus for a job well done, but when some people don't have a job any more because they folded the company or sent all the jobs overseas, then that doesn't deserve monetary reward.

Hey jugs, so what kind of cards are you making? Do you have a site that will show them or anything like that?
I do believe that money is the root of all. I know even within the court system that if you dont have an attorney the judge wont hear your case. If you can't afford one then they appoint you one if you are the person in trouble. It's crazy..Oh well, have a nice evening and keep smiling.

I'm afraid most of life does revolve around money. Sure there are occasional "freebes" but most of the time if we need or want something we have to earn it.

I just think that these companys that keep putting up all the bills should look at all their profits and ask why are they making all these customers struggle to keep up with all the increases. When the bills go up our wages do not meet the increase in the rise of the bills.

I think that a lot of things revolve around money. If your not working for it, your spending it on everything. From necessities to wants! I think that in some cases we want things because of the stresses of work, and these wants we need money for, and sometimes the want out ways the needs. I feel even this is marketing techniques for the business worlds point and profit.

Yes, I think everything these days revolves around money. Even simple things like going to work, you need some pocket money to get there and to eat, as well. In Hong Kong, we say "No Money, No Talk" which really does apply. In essence, it means, if you don't have money, you can't do anything.

I have noticed that too. My husband works part-time and I am currently out of work. All the money my husband makes goes towards bills and there never seems to be enough money. I try to save as much as possible. We have tried talking to the phone company, the power company and our dish network. but none of these companies seem to want to work with us. As a result, my husband's paychecks goes towards bills only and there is never any extra money.

My husband works alot of hours to provide for us but there is no money left after paying all the bills,so i do a few things on the internet to try to get a bit of pocket money that also go on the bills. It seems that we all work just to survive with no time left for each other anymore.

If I am in a bad mood and broke I do, yes! If I am feeling strong and not in the dumps then I do not. When I was young I worked hard to make money and pay for my car and all that I felt was important at that time in my life. Then as I grew older I realized I didn't need all the fancy stuff and utilized my money differently. We all set goals for what we want in life and money helps us acheive those goals.

I have now got to the stage of thinking that i have to struggle to provide for the family as well as go without, but in 12 years i haop to have the mortgage paid off so then perhaps i will be able to have all the things that other people are buying now but without all the worries of every bill.

Yes, sadly it’s true. I work online too trying to make a little money and my husband has a full time job and most of our lives are spent trying to make money to cover our living expenses. It is unfortunate that so much is reliant on how much wealth we have. The saddest is when people cannot afford basic medical care or food.
I think the trick is to simplify our lives so that we don’t become enslaved to making money.

no matter what anyone says you need money to live, it wont make you happy tho but it does give you options in life.
We all have bills to pay without money we wouldn't have gas electric internet etc etc
Also later on in life when you retire if you have had no money during your working life then you may not be able to retire.
I dont view work as work per say I view work as a way to retire at 40 and to give my kids all the experiences life can throw at you.

Great topic. Unfortunately everything does revolve around it. I guess I still live in my own mind where I think everything should revolve around love. I am a child of the 60's!
I understand how you feel. Every day is a struggle and it can be most depressing. There is no simple life anymore. I am glad that I grew up during a time where material things really didn't matter. It was your relationships with others that did.
Today our society revolves around money and knowing everyone's business. Reality shows and the media have taught our society that it is OK to be mean and ugly to others and it is not COOL to be kind. And why? to make the mighty buck!!
When people reach the end of their days they will realize that it will not be their money that is their comfort but the love from others. Those that have this will be rich. Those that don't will be empty.
Something to think about on a Monday, huh??
