In a press release two days ago, it was predicted that healthcare costs could rise between 10-12% in 2007. I know for me it will have devastating effects, I don't have insurance, and can barely afford what little medical care I recieve now. How will this affect you? What do you see as the long term effects of raising medical costs?http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/061113/nym038.html?.v=69

We all need to start taking responsibilty for our own health. Good diet, exrcise, sleep, sunshine and love are all we need to stay healthy. And if we do fall sick, then there are thousands of very cheap natural remedies. Don't fall into the clutches of the the medical business. Take back your power.

It's a good idea. I will agree with you that staying healthy is a huge part of puzzle. However, there are those that need regular check ups and medications for certain illnesses. Thank you for the repsonse though, and I am certainly a believer in natural remedies.

I cannot afford it either, as I am self employed. When I am sick, I cannot go to the doctor. I cannot afford my medications. We are over qualified for any help, as my husband works full time. I am so down about it all.

I know it is hard not to get down about it. Your hubby doesn't have medical coverage through work? That is really bad. I really feel for you and your family. Medical costs are already outrageous. Thanks for the response.

It is a combination of pharmacutical companies given free reigns and illegals receiving healthcare that the state has to cover. The state has to make the money back so other's have to foot the bill.

I can't disagree with you. I am sure that both those play a huge role in why the costs keep raising. It is sad when we can't even afford to get medical care, but the doctors can take vacations every three months. Thanks for the response.

That is a shame it will rise so ridiculously. Fortunately I do have insurance. In my opinion, it is the hospitals, insurance companies, and doctors making money out of all this mess, while putting less and less nurses on the floor to take care of the sickest of the sick. It's a tradgedy.

I agree. And I want to know what the added benefiit to the patient is after they raise the cost of care. Actually I already no, there is no benefit for the patients. Our healthcare system in the US is really going downhill fast, and it is the common man/woman that pays the price for failure of the system. Thanks for replying to my discussion.

I don't either Sassy. It is a pretty sad state of affairs. I hope it doesn't go up, but I am pretty sure it will. Guess we will all be choosing whether to eat or go see a doctor pretty soon. Thanks for the reply.
