How fast do you type?

I type about 55 - 60 wpm. I consider that pretty fast. I enjoy typing though. I find it somewhat therapeutic :)

I'm not a faster typist but I can write an articles in a short period of time to if I have a good idea to write...

I have been using computers for a short while, though, compare to normal users I am pretty a fast typer. My word limit was somewhere around 60 Words/minute, the last time i checked it!

I am relatively slow at 70 wpm, but my brother types at 130 wpm with no errors and can finish a page in rapid order. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't come close to his speed and accuracy. What a guy!

Roughly 75 words per minute average when following a written (English) text. Approximately 90 WPM when writing a text (English) out of my head. When writing in Portuguese the average is a bit lower due to the need of concerning with accentuation in words and so. All in all, I think I'm not too bad, but I know people who do it better. Granted, my net speed is without errors while those other people may have a few errors, but, when outputting ideas to paper (Well, virtual paper) the extra typing speed is preferable because you can worry about spell checking later.

Well I can't say I type superfast. But I type faster that most of my friends. Also, my typing speed is faster than my writing speed !! :P The reason why my typing speed has grown is because of chatting on orkut.com !! XD !!

I know I can type very, very fast, but don't ask my speed. I started off on a manual typewriter. Then moved to an electric one, and then an electronic one. With all that experiece, my fingers just moved on the keyboard.

I too am not a fast typist. May be averaged. I guess I can type about 25 to 30words per minute...

I've been a computer user since I was five (now I'm 24) but still I don't type really fast enough. The last time I took a typing test it evaluated me for a 50 words per minute. Never really hit that 60 mark though.

I think I'm not compared to people I know who can type 45 to 60 words per minute, I think I'm a slow typist, I can type a whole page double space maybe for around ten minutes. I only learned how to type when I started using the computer and since then I can type using only two fingers on from hand.

i am not sure at what rate i type i don't check at all may be some where around 10 mins for a page don't know i am just guessing i will check out and see actually i type around 30 word at around 35 to 45 seconds

I am not a fast typist,but now I 've improved my typing skill and speed to some degree since I 've joined in mylot.it contributes to pracitce.there is saying"practice makes perfect."I believe it.I don't hope to be able to type very fast though,becuase for me that is unneccessary. have a nice day!

I can type up to 50 words per minute. I use all my fingers but not all the times. I can type without looking on the keyboard but not that high when it comes to my accuracy. How did I say 50 words per minute? Measure your speed on typingtest main site.

really really really slowly... and when I talk on MSN the other person has written 5 comments before I get to say anything and they are asking "are you still there" lol

Hi itsmacuricecassidy, I type very fast at about between 70 and 100 words per minute as touch type. However I've been using a lap top now for so long, without a mouse as well, that the other day when trying to use a friends very raised keyboard I completely lost the plot as wasn't used to that type of keyboard anymore. I found myself having to look down to place my fingers and not having a clue where the letters were.

I think I can do around 50 words per minute, but that was when I was going to technical college and that was in 1991. I am in my 60's, so now I am not really sure how fast I dan go. I do it by touch, but I do make lots of mistakes so that sets me back a bit too. I have a tendency to type faster than my brain can think. Tping here in mylot does help though as I can do better than before, so that is good too. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

hi friend, yeah, i can type very fast, because i have learned higher grade, when i was in 11th grade i leared that time, from then i started typing, at home i use chat with my friends regularly so, usually my typing will be super fast heehee. thanks for you topic, have a nice day.

I consider myself to be pretty fast...unless I'm in a hurry to get something done...then I make all kinds of errors! I probably type about 55 wpm on the average.

Hi, Maurice The rate of typing is calculated at WPM-words per minute. I usually type about 120 WPM and i have been typing at the same rate since i was a kid and i have not improved. Typing faster is really an advantage when it come to interactivity. Thank you , have a nice day and happy mylotting
