I really find it difficult choosing and buying gifts for Christmas, because i have to take a lot of considerations like how much money do i have, who are the persons included in my list and what kind of gifts will i buy. You know, not all of us have big budget for Christmas gifts thats why its so hard to buy. Christmas is fast approaching and i have not start shopping for gifts yet. I am looking for a gift that is useful and affordable but i have not found that kind of gift items in the shops i went to. Can you help me with my dilema?

I am making my husband's family gift baskets. I will be putting in cookies, candy, fudge, and bread. I will also put in a ceramic ornament in each basket. I buy ceramic ornaments and paint those as well.
I bought my 7 year old nephew a book as well as my 3 year old niece and nephews (they are triplets)they got books also. They love to read. The triplets each take a book to bed at night while my sister reads them a different book.
There is still time to make homemade gifts.

Hi TJZM,
I am also in the process of deciding what kind of christmas gifts i am going to give my family, godchildren and friends for christmas and i am having difficulty too. However, i thought of the following possible gifts:
1. local delicacies - there are so many delicacies in your province, i know you can re-package it and make it as a gift for your friends here in manila (please don't forget me okay?!)
2. if you can bake or make your signature salad (that i tried last week-yummy right?) it can also be a good gift
3. this one is classic but very practical (if you really want something that they can use) - face towel, soap, underwear, etc. the twist here will be -the COLOR. If you know their favorite colors then pick the one for them.
4. last, you can make a personalized calendar. i am planning to make that this year. sort out some family pictures-- old and latest pictures. make a collage and do it yourself in the computer. there are templates that you can use to make this. it will be fun and memorable.
Goodluck. "Maligayang Pasko!"

Thats a nice idea cher, but what if i cannot afford the gift they want? Budget is the number one constraint. You know, i hate to think about this because the true meaning of Christmas is slightly forgotten but we cannnot help it. Well, i'll take note of that, thank you very much and advance Merry Christmas.

Make a gift basket for the ladies, something flowery and scented. If you have a dollar store or it's equivalent where you live you can find lots of good smelling stuff for a dollar, and a basket to boot! Add Christmas Ribbon or wrap it in Red Or Green Plastic Wrap! For the guys, buy them a gift card to a restaurant, or a hardware or sporting good store...
Those are my ideas and I hope they help.

Hi Triplejazz,
If you're into baking you can make pastries and package them with specially designed boxes apt for the Christmas season. This is less expensive than buying from the department store plus it's a labor of love so those who will receive them will feel they're extra special. Advanced Merry Christmas!

I am doing a lot of homemade gifts. I am painting ceramic ornaments (for both men and women) as well as making a basket full of goodies. I will be making homemade fudge, cookies, candy and bread. If you want I will add you as a friend and can give you some recipes. I figure with the homemade gift baskets many people have guests who come over so I figure the food will come in handy.
