If I could have a dog I would want a Long haired Chihuahua. I have a friend that has one and it is a 6 year old male and he is so cute. He has like a brown redish fur. his name is Rusty. And he came from the state of California because here in Pittsburgh I have never seen one.

My mama has a long haired chihuahua. He's black and brown with one white paw. We got the dog when I was still living with them, and so I was allowed to name it, I named him Harley Davidson. I actually didn't name him that because of his fur. The name was intended for another dog we had also gotten, but when we went to see the dog we were getting Harley found mama so to speak and we got to bring him home too! I told my parents I was going to name our dog Harley and I was right, just not the dog we had intended! By the way, the other dogs name was Hercules! We got the dogs from actually a county I now live in! lol!

h jugsjugs I would love to have a toy collie if there is such a thing, and an extra hundred dollars a month so I could afford the rent here for having a pet. I love collies and golden retrievers but to have a dog here it has to be a small dog. Ireally do miss not having a dog.

Hatley - You are in luck. There is a miniture collie also know as a sheltie. They are approximately 20lbs or less in size and only stand about 14 inches tall. They have the same personality as a collie and same look. The are a bit pricey to purchase but are great pets and great with children.

There was a time I only wanted German Shepherds. That was until I adopted so many Mongrels from the street. This made me realise that breeds did not matter. As long as you loved the dog, any breed would love you in return.

My best dogs have been dachshunds. I have over the years had three. Although they are known to be a stubborn breed the ones I had were great, funny dogs who were patient with my children and all the other stuff that goes along with a family. The dachshunds were originally bred to catch badgers so sometimes you have to make sure they dont dig in the yard. Mine never did. I had(have) the short haired ones which take very little work.

We actually have two little dogs that live here with us. One belongs to me. It is a female and her name is Baby Girl. She is half Yorkshire terrier and Half Chihuahua. Then there is my daughter's new dog that she rescued from the shelter about a month ago. It is a male, his name is Moe and he is a yorkie as well. Baby weighs about 10 pounds, mainly because my son had been giving her too many treats. I have her on a very strict diet now to get her down in weight where she will be healthy again. Moe weighs barely 3 pounds. He is so tiny, but just a funny, sweet dog.

More than likely I would choose a retriever or a labrodor or maybe in a husky. It's tough to choose.

The only dog I ever had was a Dalmation. It loved me and I loved it, even though in general I do not like dogs. Some of my neighbors have little chihuahuas and there is one of all of them that I like very much and he seems to like me too, but the others bark at me and I don't like them. I guess I would have to say it is not the breed that I would choose but the personality and disposition of each dog. I am the same with people. But cats are different. I love ALL cats.

Ive always liked big dogs. Saint Bernards, German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, etc. I havent owned a big dog before though. Parents would not permit it. So we just have an average sized dog. My Mom did want to have a toy dog so I guess she could carry it whenever, wherever she likes. I used to like a small dog but the ones I like are hairy ones like Shih Tzu's, again, parents would like a low maintenance dog. Going back to the big dogs, my top choice would be the Huskies. They just look very chilled, and can stand out on their own, though I think that they might prefer to be in a pack. I like them because of their resemblance to wolves. The German Shepherds for me are more of a companion and for security as well since they could perhaps be very aggressive to intruders. The Saint Bernards are just too cuddly and are kinda like friendly bears. Im not into the breed of the dog these days though. Im more into the personality and their temperament. Im not looking to add more to our two dogs. They are already quite a handful.

I have had some great dogs in my day. I had a german sheperd named Thera that was a pretty good dog. I also had a cocker spaniel when I was growing up and my grandmother had a labradore. But the best dog I ever had was a Blue Heeler named Stryder. He was smart as a whip. I would have another one of those.

After having a Scottish terrier and a Chinese pug, I would have no other. Both are fiercely protective but get along well with children. My pug was my dog and my dog only although she was quite happy to be rubbed by anyone who was willing. The terrier is definitely Dad's dog. We moved to Florida and my husband, who was supposed to retire early suddenly found he wasn't allowed to. They had refused to train anyone to take his place. He remained in DC for three years. My daughter and I bought the Scotty and he was quite happy with us until Dad came to visit. That dog had a grin from ear to ear and couldn't wait to find his spot in the lounge chair beside the human he adopted. Today, my husband is an invalid after a massive stroke. His faithful Scotty will leave his side long enough to chase a toy in the yard three or four times and then he insists on checking to see how his human is doing. He lays either at Dad's feet or on the sofa directly behind his wheelchair. If you get a Scotty, don't be shocked when they smile. Their teeth rival any big dog, being about 3/4" in length. But our guy is good-humored and playful, although I've heard others say they are aloof. He has never had that trait.

I am a person who loves big dogs. I have a Golden Retriever now and she is 4 years old. Golden Retrievers are very loveable dogs and they will always be your true friend! They are very protective dogs also. I will always have a big dog. And, I will always have a Golden Retriever. They are actually rated one of the top dogs that owners choose for their family pets!

I have always wanted a german shepherd, I think they are gorgeous dogs and are very good to train. I remember the police came into my primary school when I was a child and did a demonstration with their police dogs. Ever since then I have wanted a german shepherd dog.

Little dogs are cute & precious!!! Being a single female who lives by herself, I like having a large dog that refuses to let ANYONE enter my property. I have two 75 pounds Black Labs. Before that I had an 85 pound Black Lab. Before him I had a 100 pound German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. I've also had 2 Dobermans that weighed around 100 pounds. The last small dog I had was 40 years ago when I lived with my parents. I find it easier to take care of outside dogs rather than having to take a small dog for a walk. For the affection I need, I have 2 black cats!!! They are very easy to take care of!!!

We have a dog now and she is about 4 or 5 years old and we were told that she is a lab border collie mix. She is all black with just a little gray beard. I found her on the side of the road about 4 years ago running with another dog and I was able to get them both in the car and try and find the owners but was unsuccessful so my friend took the other dog and I kept the one we have and have had her every since. She is a great dog, very smart, very well behaved and I would say that if I had to choose my own dog that would be the brand of dog that I would choose again.

I do have a dog and its a Shih Tzu. They are small and usually weigh no more then 20 lbs. They follow you every where you go like a young child does. The bigger size dog the less life span for them, so I heard. If I didn't have cody I would probably have a collie. I had one growing up. They are so sweet and gentle.

i really want t a welsh corgi. there are two reasons one is because i fell in love with three (a mom and her puppys) when i was volunteering for an organisation that takes dogs and cats on their last chance from shelters that do euthanise after a few weeks and tries to find them homes by having them out and about around places like petco or pet's mart they dont do that the same way they used to but the program seems to have gotten more wide spread. they are such intelligent dogs and very fun too. the second reason is one of the main characters in my favorite anime is a corgi name ein who is an escaped super doggie from a government research facility and is super smart. i know thats an odd reason but im an odd person. well i guess theres one more reason i want them to be generals in my dream doggy army of mini pins and big dobies :) another reason born of my oddness

Small dogs are so cool to have. I currently own a Papillion and she is the greatest. Don't get me wrong I like big dogs too because I own a walker hound also; but the little dog is so much more fun and I can take her so many more places. I will defintely own another Papillion if/when something happens to this one.
