I was just listening to DZMM where Ronnie Nathanielz mentioned that boxer Z Gorres was rushed to the hospital (University Medical Hostpital in Las Vegas, diagnosed subdural hematoma) after winning a fight with Columbian Luis Mendez. I did not know much about him that is why I made a research about his present medical condition.
He was medically induced coma and will undergo surgery to remove swelling from the brain. I know that since this happened on the eve of Pacquiao and Cotto fight and we are all praying for Pacquiao's victory, but as a Filipino, I hope that everyone of us will say a little prayer for his recovery.

Amen. but i think after he recovers from this case-- he deserves to rest and retire from boxing--he already made us proud of him.

Thanks for your comment. Actually, I really know nothing about him. When I heard it over DZMM, I just felt obliged to search about him on the net. It is just sad that he has to go through this. My prayers are with him. On November 13, 2009, after winning a 10 round bout against Luis Melendez, Gorres collapsed in the ring and was removed on a stretcher.[3] He underwent surgery to relieve swelling to the left side of his head. Originally, doctors were going to keep him in a medically induced coma for a few days, but Gorres reacted to the treatment much better than anticipated. He is currently conscious and in stable condition.

That's too bad for him to be in coma!
That is among the danger a boxer might meet during or after the fight.
The bad thing is that, you win but sometimes the life is at stake.
Hope he will surpass whatever predicament is he facing right now.

This is serious! We must say our prayers for his recovery, even though we are not pinoys. When we pray together in a prayer chain, God will hear our humble pleas and save Ronnie! So, let us bow down and pray! Amen.

My husband and I were saddened by the news of Z's hospitalization. He's one of the promising Filipino boxers. This incident might result in his untimely retirement from boxing. We are praying for his quick recovery.

My heart broke when i heard the news. He was an amazing prospect. ALA's best boxer. "The Dream" was a prospect even before we heard of Villoria or Donaire. He's such a great loss to Philippine boxing. And when he was on the brink of another title shot! (The fight with Melendez was an eliminator for the Bantamweight title) I was rooting for him even. The news is just so saddening.
Let's just hope and pray that he may recover. It's just a pity that from all the hard work he has put in, his career would end like this.
