ribbon on or maybe a bow? I used to do both, but now i tend to just wrap them up and just put a tag on it with the persons name as well as who it is from.I think wrapping paper is quicker as well as alot cheaper as it all ends up in the bin after the gift has been opened.

I do wrap the gifts with ribbons and bows. At times I will
attached some nice artificial blooming pastel flower on it.
It gives a special touch. I do not spend money
to buy those ribbons or bows. I just recycle it / reuse it from
those presents that I received. Sometimes those extra materials,
loose artificial flowers, sea shells are great as final touch.
Nowadays, I do not wrap gifts for family members and close friends.
I just get a ribbon and make a big bow on it. Put a special sticker/tag
which provided by the shopping mall that stated ' Go Green without
wrapping'...that will support 'Go Green' campaign. However, for those
acquaintance and children I still wrap those gifts. I enjoyed looking
at those children exciting expressions as they receive the gifts which
is mysterious to them. As they unwrap it with excitement and joy

oh, yeah, i remember now that i used to spend so much time doing some gift wrapping. i used to enjoy doing these things immensely.
this discussion makes me relive those should be cherished moments. this makes me feel good.
it is true that when one is in the gift wrapping mood, there will be a lot of personal touches to it. the wrapped gift then practically becomes a work of art in itself.

Yes... I think so. I do the same as what you did before. But later I realized is that this would all go to the bin after opening the gifts. So what I did now is just I bough a gift wrapping paper with printed designs on it so I would not put ribbon anymore just a card on top with the greetings and from where it from and to whom it will be given.

The only time I use a ribbon or a bow on my gifts I wrap is at work, but when I'm wrapping for things like Christmas &/or birthdays I don't use bows one is because my daughter will take them off plus sometimes I think its just a waste of time and money. I can say it does look nice but I don't really have the time to do all of that. I make my own name tags also out of extra wrapping paper. I think that also helps keep things hidden especially with my kids trying to be nosy and see who name is on what LOL

I used to do both but not anymore. I put one of those bows on and the little cards. I even put some things in the fancy bags now. I used to love to wrap and did all kind of fancy things but when I offered to do other folks wrapping as well as mine because they disliked it so much they really took advantage and I really got tired of so I don't do it nearly are elaborately as I used to.

Sometimes I do still put a bow and ribbon on a gift but not very often. Most of the time I just wrap the gift and put tape on it and then put a name tag on the gift.

I've actually never been one to use ribbons and bows when I am wrapping presents. I just wrap them up with wrapping paper and use a tag to tell who the gift is for, it is what works the best for me. I do add a personal touch to the gifts that I wrap though in that I do a lot of graphic arts and thus custom design the tags that I use for the gifts that I give myself. This to me is just as pretty and more personal than using a bow and ribbons. I always get comments on the gifts that I give before they are even unwrapped.

I usually wrap them and add a bow and of course a tag. Sometimes I also may put on some ribbon. It just depends on how much time I have and how many I have to wrap. For younger kids I don't do much more than just paper.

Well I save any paper that I'm not going to recycle because it can all be reused as wrapping paper or for card-making.
I don't have much money, so I do like to put a bit of extra effort into the wrapping with pretty bows and curls. I also like to put a hint or riddle on the label as to what's inside, not too easy, but enough to keep them guessing. It's nice to have a gift that looks pretty under the tree too.
You might have guessed that I like wrapping and giving gifts!

It all depends on what I have in the house, and what the occasion is. If it's Christmas, and they are going to someone else's house, I will take a little more care. I sometimes use wrapping paper if the gift is in a shape that is easy to wrap. Things that are unusually shaped, like balls, or guitars, I often will either find a bigger box to put them in...or just purchase a gift bag!

I am like you I usually just wrap up the gift and use a name tag on it. My Mother is 84 years old and she spends a lot of time wrapping gifts and putting ribbons and bows on even if it is just for us here at home. I don't see why waste a ribbon and bow if the gift is just going to be torn open on Christmas morning. Happy Mylotting. Happy Holidays

i love to put curly ribbons of the homemade sort on them though there is the problem that they get crushed fairly easily. i haven't made one in years though partially because i run out of time or ribbon.

hey, jugsjugs. you have slapped me right on my face with this discussion. i realize all of a sudden that i have this habit of giving gifts without hardly getting them wrapped at all.
yes, during my younger days, there were ribbons and bows to go with the beautifully wrapped gifts. i must have forgotten already the joys of making gifts look so beautifully lucractive by going through all those exercises of beautifying them.
actually, i have come to realize that it will now count to so many years already since i did it the last time.

That's what I do as well. Im not really good in wrapping gifts elaborately but I am good in wrapping them like how you would wrap a textbook.LOL Im just too technical about wrapping gifts. I do agree that it might be nice to look at when its not yet opened but I feel that it would be only just a waste after it is opened. Most people dont care about the wrapping. They just wish to get to the gift inside. I do actually care about the wrapping. I try to not ruin them when I open them, then I keep them for the possibility of using them again. Of course I am careful not to use the old wrapping for a gift to the one who originally sent me that. I use it for wrapping a person's gift who I know the original sender does not know personally. So he/she will not notice that I reused his/her wrapping paper. I also sometimes use those used wrapping paper for artworks and stuff.

When wrapping gifts I usually put both ribbon and bows on them. For Christmas I put ribbon, bows a tag and sometimes a candy cane or some other type of Christmas Candy. I love decorating Christmas Presents its one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time.

I put bows on the presents because we take the bows and put them on the tree or on our wreath. When I was little I used to them on the cat. The cat never seemed to mind. I also use wrapping paper.

It depends really. My husband and I buy each other a number of gifts and we will wrap these up with paper and a tag, if its quite small or needs brightening up then I will put a bow in it. If I want to make some extra effort I will put bows and ribbons on and then pull the ribbon along the scissor edge to curl it.
