Do you think you ever be too old to celebrate Christmas by putting up your tree and decorating the house and putting some presents under the tree.
Some people I know don't do that anymore since there kids are all gone and there is only two of them.
There is only 2 of us but we like putting up the tree. Even though we really don't need anything we still get a few little things to put under the tree..
Do you think you ever out grow Christmas?

Hi Missybear
Good to hear from you dear.
OH Christmas is something that I will never out grow. You know it is always best to keep the kid active that we all have inside of us. When you put up that tree and all the decorations it makes you feel good inside, so why wouldn't someone want to have that great feeling. I guess I will have decorations and tree up at christmas time when I am 80 years old...Im just a big kid at heart..
Have a nice day and keep smiling my friend.

I know..I was thinking when I got up this morning about putting my tree up this week. I usually don't do that until the weekend after Thanksgiving. Someone told me that it would bring good luck to my family if I put it up early. If that is the case then I need to put it up now...LOL..

My honey wanted to put the tree up weeks ago and I keep telling him to wait after Thanksgiving too, but I think it doesn't really matter. It really is fun putting it up and all.

I don't think that no one is ever to old to celebrate the Christmas Holidays and those who think they are..well they just lost their Holiday spirit and maybe need Marley's ghost to come for a visit..I know though it is getting harder and harder each year. I don't have any kids but we always buy for the kids in the family every year even if it puts us behind on bills sometimes. I haven't gotten into the Holiday Spirit yet this year..kinda hard when all the kids want gift cards but one or two..so takes some of the joy out of it..We usually decorate day after Thanksgiving Day but so far I am not feeling the excitement like I do most years..Been a hard year for me emotionally, physically and financially. But I don't think anyone can get to old to celebrate it..maybe like me they just lost the spark to..and it will take a few sparks to get them going..

Since I answered this..things have went down hill faster then a roller coaster..My life was threw a ton of curve balls all at once..unless things change by the time I wake up...won't be any Christmas..at all..So if you have any spare prayers floating about.. My family and I aren't in great need of them at this time...

I hope you'll get into the spirit and enjoy all the fun things about putting up a tree and decorating the house.
It does take the fun out of shopping when all they want is gift cards.

I don't. I love Christmas. I like seeing all the ligts, the decorations the light snow on the ground, and putting up the tree. Our tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving ane every night we watch a Christmas movie. I also love making home made gifts and making ornaments. I bake cookies, candy, bread and fudge.
I am hoping to have children by next Christmas so we can share all these great things with them.

It sounds like you're really looking forward to Christmas.
I live in Las Vegas and we hardly ever get snow exept for the mountains. It would be nice to have a white Christmas

Yes I am way too old to bother with Christmas. Its an overdone, outdated heathen celebration which was dedicated to getting drunk and having a riotous time. When the kids were small we did it,(not the drunken brawl) but its been 40 Glorious years since we last bothered. I don't do the Christmas lights either. That's a colossal waste of energy.

I really don't think you're ever too old for Christmas, decorations, Christmas tree, or anything like that. My husband and I are living by ourselves in an apartment, we're both in our early to mid twenties, and we were talking about putting up a Christmas tree the other day. It's something that we both want to do. Even my mother-in-law is putting decorations and such.

For as long as I live I think I will never outgrow Christmas even if I grow too old that I can't even stand to fix a Christmas tree. With or without a Christmas tree I will celebrate Christmas with all my heart because the real reason for this season is in my heart. Jesus is the reason for the season and Jesus is my Lord and Savior. He lives within my heart and therefore my heart always leap with joy whenever the day of celebrating the birth of my Savior comes

I don't think I would ever be too old for Christmas.. I love the Christmas season, I like decorating our house and of course putting up the Christmas tree.. This is one of the best holidays in a year, if not the best... When I get older, I would still continue to celebrate christmas and I would continue to decorate our house..

People never out grow Christmas.I feel Christmas should be everyday there is not enough love, joy, and peace in the world and this is the meaning not adults giving gifts to eachother but to give themselves completely to their children give individual attention lots of love, caring, and sharing the things you like to do or are into.Be their parent as well as their friend. And as well for couples to give themselves to each other in every aspect. The presents, tree,is all extra flare though presents are nice they are not necessary. Please keep the tree though because this is part of putting you in the mood.

It's not so much about the presents you're right but it makes it all so much more fun and it makes the tree look prettier with presents underneath.

No Christmas is for all ages, and even though it was certainly more fun as a kid it is still very special. I imagine once our kids are all grown and out of the house that we won't have quite as big of a tree but we will still have one even if it just a small one and we will always do a gift exchange. My mom lives alone and still puts up her little tree every year and we go to her house on Christmas Eve every year to celebrate and open gifts. It is a very special time of year and our traditions are very special to me. They will change as we all get older but hopefully new traditions will be started as things change. My grandparents celebrated Christmas every year until they left this earth.

My mom used to always put up a big tree and we had real candles as lights.
Now for the past 8 tears or so she's alone on Christmas but still puts up a little tree.
We haven/
't spend Christmas together in 25 years.
She's in Germany and I'm in the USA

Well I know my parents don't put a tree up anymore,in fact that haven't for years now. They have an extra large manger that they put out with other decorations. It gets to be to much work I think when you get up in age dealing with a tree. Christmas for me is not exactly the same as years ago but I still celebrate. I hope I don't outgrow Christmas in the future but you never know.

I think it is necessary and important to celebrate Christmas Day in West as if we celebrate the Sprint Festival in China. No matter man or woman, old or young. It is the Day we can give us a reason to be happy with our family, our friends. I don't think I will out grow Spring Festival just like I believe most of the westerner won't out grow Christmas. After all, it's a big Day~!!
