Hi~
How do you define success? What kind of life is successful?
Recently I heard someone talking about his future, and he planed to work in the top investment bank. I was wondering whether we can judge him as a very successful person just because he got a good job?
Nowadays many people are intended to judge a person by the money one earns or the reputation one has. But I really don't agree
So how do U define a success life? money? reputation? or somethings u do for self achievement? or anything else?
Any ideas are welcome!

in my opinion, success can be defined as different meanings. for me, the sucess is that i have a little progress or improvement than your situation now. this is a kind of sucess. maybe for others, sucess must be outstanding. of course, that kind of sucess is my aim too.

As to me, success is simple. Sucess is owing a happy family- my son is healthy and happily, my husband earning enough money to support our family, and being love me. Sucess is get jobs done as you want. Sucess is have a good relationship with the people around you. Sucess is being happy.
I guess we can only judge one person is sucess or not by the only aspect we know, as he may have great sucess on other aspect that you never know.
Have a great day and happy mylotting.

Yes you're right. We are all prone to judge a person to be successful or not only by what we have seen. There're many things invisable. So this kind of judgement can sometimes be ex parte.
Thx! Best wish for U and your famliy!

Success for me is going to bed knowing that you did something that made a positive difference to the world around you. For me that is more important than materialistic gains or being on top of the rich lists etc. That is why I simply love to do things that would help me connect with people and enable them to do things which the would not otherwise have been able to do.
Cheers!

Thank U! Ram. A positive difference to the world or maybe a positive progress of myself to be better would make me feel successful.
Best wishes for all the people who are striving.

Hi, this is an interesting question. Everyone has different definition of success. For me I think I'm the person you said, I judge one as a successful person by the money and reputation one has, and we have to say that money is really important in the present day. So if one person has a really good job, and have a lot of money and good reputation, I think this one is a success person.

I know money is important. But I think this shouldn't be the most important standard for us to judge a person. Cuz there're many things we can't see.

Hello Catherine. I think we each define success in our own way, but for me, success is when we've contributed something good to those we love and to life in general. It means we've achieved our biggest dreams and have found a place of contentment in life.

Yeah, I agree with U. Even if we're still on the road to pursue our dreams, I think we're successful to have bravery to face the difficulties~
Thank U!

Hi,
In my opinion, Successful life is to be able to do something good, and useful for others. Such as success because of the wealth owned and happy to provide financial assistance to others in need. The core of success is going to share with others.
Have a nice day.

To me success is the achievements of your life. Some see success as simple rewards that life spins your way. others see success as highly attainable goals to reach. If you are happy in your life, you have success.

Some people say that if you have a lot of money ,it is success.
Some people say that if you have a very high power,it is success.
Some people say that if you have what others have not,it is success.
As far as I'm concerned, success is you can have very warm family, when you get home from work where you can get your food, your rest.what's the most important is that you will get the care by you family.Happy mylot.

well as we all known we all have our own definations but what rings authentic to real sucess? every individual has many ways of expressing there way to victory.i would have to say that sucess starts with where you at the present time and how you aid your inner self to accomplish your pick of accomplishment.it stats with you....

Success may mean different things to different people. For some financial independence, reputation, and happiness are measures of success. For me success means achieving my goals in life and leaving a legacy. I want to do something important and be remembered.

I believe success is something ones own personal satisfaction. As long as person is not satisfied with whatever he achieves he doesnot believe that he is successful. What others think about him is something what bothers me the least. Some people are satisfied with the way they live, they earn, they wear and all and they consider themselves successful. Some people are soooo ambitious that they almost never get satisfied with what they have and the only thing they want is success. Their scale of success is very high and they always believe that they are still at the bottom of that scale.
I would say "Its all in state of mind"

I think you are reasonable! It's a matter of self judgement and depend on our own state of mind. Thank U!

For me,i would like to define realizing one`s dream as successful,no matter what one`s dream is.If some own much money and a high reputation in the social soicety, but he have to give up or against his dream, then he wouldn`t live a successful life.Take a teacher for example, his wage maybe is not so high, but his dream does come true, because he can teach the children how to write,to learn,to think. He konw he is contrubiting to the society,so he does own a success life. So,we couldn`t judge a person by the money one erans or the reputation one has.

different people have different opinions abt success. for some ppl becoming rich is successful... some think they r succesful whn they reach the toppest position in work... According to me success touches u when u touch ur dreams or when they r fulfilled. when u make a new invention or discovery- datz Success.. dats what i believe.

Success...
The word alone represents a condition where that specific
person has already attain all the things he or she dreamed in life.
Success is a matter of being in control and satisfied with what you have in life
even though you have nothing. When you are satisfied with yourlife then you already
is a successful person.

I think success is a state of mind ,you are as successful as you feel.No external or material things will define your belief of success .My mother for example si comfortable with her success. She doesnt have a billion dollars ,nor does she have fame but she was able to send all her children to university.Mind you she coudl haev achieved more in terms of finacial wealth ,power ,educational prowess and other material displays as she is quiet competent however she sought to take care of her children because those are the hallmarks of her success .
So I believe that you are as successful as you feel comfortable with

Sucess to me is defined by the my achievement. If I am able to achieve my dreams, I will consider myself to be sucessful. Some people that have good jobs are not happy with what they are doing so how to you factor that into sucess. If I am happy with my life, I will be satisfied.

Everyone must have his or her benchmark for success.I think whatever satisfies you is success for you.For some it is wealth, for others it is reputation, yet other feel they are successful when they achieve something. For me it being able to do something to the best of my ability and being satisfied with the result is success.

hi Catherine,
Success is a relative thing and each person defines success in relation to how he finds meaning in life. I remember one author who said, that success is just but the end of a journey and the beginning of mounds of other challenges in life. Theories in psychology also spell success, like the needs theory of Maslow which states that is the person has attained self-actualization or the realization of all his potentials he then can be a successful person, the needs achievement theory likewise states that persons who always seek for achievement in life spells their success in terms of their achievement...there are a lot of other theories that can explain success...However, for me personally, a successful man is one who has created a vision, has been committed in fulfilling this vision as his mission in life, has made possible in terms of achievement all that he has visualized into reality. A successful man is also that man who after all the accolades and the achievement he has garnered can still be as natural as can be without any trace of pride or hipocrisy..one whom you can still approach in the street and talk with just like an ordinary person..one who can still smile at you despite all the "feathers he has on his cap". For me that is success.

I define success in having a good paying job, financial stability & my family is secured while I am still connected with the company.
