best herbs for my garlic bread

...i'm following a simple recipe for garlic bread and it says to add some herbs but it doesn't especify what herbs, so does anyone know what is best herbs to use for my garlic bread, it's really necessary to use herbs? if i don't have herbs will it work?

Garlic itself is an excellent herb, you can use this great herb to make your garlic bread along with thyme seeds, which is also classfied in the herbs.Why dont you buy a readymade garlic bread which is available with all the leading supermarkets and bakery???

Hi Bart, thought you might like to know of the simplest quickest garlic bread ever which can if you wish include a herb. Simply take a slice of thick crusty bread and lightly toast it on both sides, then rub one side with a half cut clove of garlic, drizzle a little olive oil on and if you choose, a little thymne, then pop back under the grill.
