Big, fat waste of time? Or great value, fun, whatever?

Of all the websites that you have spent time on, which one was the biggest waste of time and why? Did you ever put a lot of effort into a site and get nothing back? No friends if it was a social site, no $$ if it was an earning site, etc. What was the worst?
Of all the websites that you have spent time on, which one was the best for what you wanted it for? Could be a site that promotes your business. Could be a dating site where you found the love of your life. Could be a social site where you found some real friends or just had a lot of fun. What was the best?

Hi, D!
The best friend I've ever known other than my husband is a woman I met on MyLot! She no longer visits the site, but we're in touch just about every day and closer than the best of sisters.
I've met many people I really like, too, on Gather. It's the kindest place there is, if you delete the wing-nuts, who have been fairly quiet lately.
My greatest disappointment was Scour deciding not to pay any more, and not allowing people the money they'd already earned at the time of the switch! Pickjack went from fun to more trouble than it was worth, too!
How about you?

Gather's a great social site! The points add up rather slowly, but the people are wonderful. I've also won many give-aways there! I think you'd enjoy it. BTW, I haven't been to Yuwie in ages -- hated it!

Multiply led me to Yuwie led me to myLot and I have found friends in all three places. I'm kind of disenchanted with Yuwie at the moment though and nobody seems to be interested in Multiply. Pickjack, well, we shall see if they actually end up paying on 11/25. If not, they'll probably go on the list of scam sites and that will be the end of it. What's Gather? A social site?

I'd say spending time chatting on MIRC was the worst off for me; it was just a waste of time where I ended up going on blind dates and then it was just worst off because now that I think of it, I should have just took up a short course or a skilled hobby and would be better off. Not to say that I don't make some great friends there; but it's not quite the same as mylot. It's an entirely different world where some people are just out to have fun, fun and more fun. And don't care a thing about the world. Time-waster. For me, at least. But the website is actually cool. Only at that time, it seemed wasteful, and the people that I interacted with, ha! I wished I wasn't so delinquently kiddish at that time and found the lot sooner. But then, mylot didn't exist back then.

I felt www.popularnetjobs.com is a waste website.
I felt www.mylot.com as the best website.
For the first one I lost money, patience so I hate to goto that website and I prefer anyone here not to go to that website at all. Its just a waste of time.
For the second one, I love mylotting.. :) Its the best friend for me. When I am depressed I come here and see many posts, respond to it, start new discussions, do some tasks and many more. :) I love to be here.

Well it's OK if you're actually talking to the people, but if you're just sending pretty picture comments back and forth, that gets boring. And what's the point, you don't get to know the person that way or anything.

Hi, well this is the first one I've used and it too me ages to work out what to do, I signed in and didn't come back for 3 months as was clueless about how to do anything other than answer discussions about salads. But I came back to pay the car tax with it and it's fine now I know my way around and I'm still here even though I earned the car tax money before its due date. It also has some jolly people and a few jolly unpleasant ones too, just like real life. I wouldn't fancy trying to work out how to use another one so I'm planning to stick on this.
Now a waste of time website will have to be bloody amazon as after refusing to post me an order last week have now been tactless enough to keep sending me junk mails to buy things from them. Wake up amazon, you don't deliver to Greece anymore, complete waste of time.

Amazon is a great site if you live where they deliver. If you do things right, you can get things delivered without a delivery charge even. But that sucks. Why don't they deliver to Greece?

Isabel Marcos was the worst for me. I upgraded, spent money, and I bought referrals, spent money, got one payout and then got ignored. I maybe recouped 1/4 of what I spent there. The best, undoubtedly, is MyLot. MyLot rewards my efforts, I make good friends, I do not have to request payout and they are extremely honest. I have learned many things here, and I have met many people as well.

hi Dawnald the worst site for me was that bad word greenfield
surveys where I wasted a lot of time as they were always saying if you do not qualify for this one, you will quality for the next one. What they did not say is that if you are over a certain age you will not be qualified no matter how many times you enter an d go to the trouble of filling out a form. you will just be told sorry you do not qualify. grrrrrrr. so that one went bye bye. the best site for me to date is mylot. and mysurvey.com .I have made ten to twenty dollars every month doing their surveys and they are so interesting as you get to put in your own input on new products that have not yet come out on the market and you get paid for doing this. Mylot I love as I have made so many mylot friends here. hugs from hatley.

Apparently most manufacturers aren't too concerned with what the 80+ market has to say. too bad...

I found a way around the popups there, so that was the least of my problems. I'm not there so much because I lost friends due to spam, popups, viruses, bullies, etc. etc. etc.

I guess the biggest waste of time for me would be the poker sites I'm a member of. I just used to go on there to waste time. I guess I would say that at this point I get the most out of this site than I do any other. My good friends are here.

Depends on whether or not you enjoy poker, I guess. I'm getting the most out of this site right now too.

I'll give you the name of a really big loser site : "Platinum Lounge"
At first glance you would think that it's going to be a pretty good site to get involved in and get a little money also but after you actually get started you find out that it's nothing but a loser site.
I joined and read all the rules and read the pay schedule and thought I had it figured out so I made a few posts but then had a hard time finding anything of substance on the site to do. I did find a way to make some points and get to the level where I should have started receiving some money but it never came and all my posts for advice seemed to be ignored. After building up my site a little and participating in some really stupid games, I gave up after never receiving my cash.

I don't think I've heard of anybody who had a good experience there. For myself, I signed up, but the site navigation just was too much trouble for me to figure out.

Hello dawn
How are you doing.
What Im about to say isn't because of the obvisious but the real truth. I have did the best with mylot. I have tried other sites and only to find out that they like to delete your articles many months later. I didn't find this to be a good thing at all.
I have been here now for little over 4 months now. I have now learned how to work the site and all the do's and don't. I think I will be staying around for some time now.

I guess if you are going to write something for a site and you don't want to lose it, it's a good idea to keep a backup somewhere. But I like it here too!

Sendearnings.com
On there they require your earnings to be $30, I believe, before you get paid. I did A LOT on there, and then I noticed that one day my earnings would say I'm at ___ dollars, and the next day it would show a lesser number. I was FURIOUS, and I quit the site. I'm not gonna spend lots of time there if they're gonna rip me off.

I hate that. Reminds me of Pickjack. Your earnings go down if you don't log on every so often. And now they didn't pay last month, so I wonder if they're going down the tubes.

I have to admitthat this is my first timeI have never done anything like this before - even though I am old enough:
Strolls off into the sun singing: "Girl's with umbrellas
Are out to catch the fellas, in the rain or the blazing sun.
But a man wouldn't trifle
with a girl who's got a rifle......
which doesn't actually make sensebut I am out to play!

The biggest waste site i spent was a survey site.
I thought they would pay me and i spent a lot of time there and after months and months of work, they didnt pay me!!
The site was awsurveys.com
It was then that i realised that it was a scam site.
The best site ive been to is orkut. Its a social networking site.
http//www.orkut.com
I have spent a LOT of time there and made a lot of good friends
There i also met a guy with who i shared my thoughts and he gave me good advice.
Orkut is real fun if you have friends over there

I've heard of Orkut but I am on so many social sites, there is just not room for one more. What do you like most about it aside from the people?
