We have lots of fairy tales here in the Philippines. They may not be famous worldwide, but they pack quite a story line. A few examples are Maria Makiling, The Monkey and the Turtle, Makahiya, and Dama de Noche. These stories provide amusement and lessons as well.

In the Philippines, we have Juan Tamad (or John The Lazy one, if translated), not really a fairy tale but it is already an iconic tale of a young boy who is not willing to do even the simplest chore. Also, we have Fairy tales rip off from other countries, we just make a local version. :)
