When I was a kid the reason that I read during my free time simply because it makes me happy. I love to read funny stories and jokes. I don't like reading school books though. But as I grown up I learn to love reading different materials simply because it expands my knowledge and understanding. It makes me more confident in dealing with different information and gives me knowledge of all the things that's unknown to me before. For me there are so many benefits I get from reading. How about you?

I get a lot of benifit from reading to. Both for entertainment value and I learn a lot about a lot of things from reading magazine articles. I learn a lot about health issues, housecleaning, cooking, new ways to save money, new web sites. I can learn a lot from reading and then I can pass on that knowledge to others on sites that I write for. Reading makes me a better writer.

For me reading is an scape from my worries.
Reading takes my mind away from problems. Away
from this ruthless world we live in. While reading I
can lost myself in the pages and forget everything for a few
seconds.

I started reading story books and fables when I was 3 years old and I have never stopped. I believe that reading books as a child builds up the character as a person. Books are an important part of our growth and the more a person reads, the more matured he will get. It gives knowledge, a great past time and helps us in the future. Reading in itself is a very good habit.

I am enjoying my day alright. I fell in a pool of mud and my white shirt looks so fashionable. I don't think I will be able to wear it anymore and I have just worn it two times in my whole life.
Books do improve our vocabulary and is surely a very important part of our growth. Just do not read them while walking or you will end up just like me.

Reading is a excellent habit which should be inculcated in each and every kid from their childhood. It is a productive hobby and you get to know many things through reading. I love reading and used to read the school books even before the school session begins as soon as the books are bought. That used to help me recollect the lessons when the teacher teaches in the class. Books are a source of immense knowledge and an individual who does not have the habit of reading is really missing something great in life. So i would request one and all to make the habit of reading.

I started reading books in my childhood. I used to read a lot of classics. I have learnt a lot from those. And gradually Charles Dickens has become my all time favourite author. It is very hard to say in short what we learn from reading. We learn the life, about this world, humanity and of course the language. Reading open up your mind and gives you a power of knowledge. I believe there's no power like power of knowledge. I love to read and I love to share my knowledge.

For many, reading has many benefits that continue to enhance their lives. Their lives are bettered in some the following ways: mentally, spiritually and sociality. Also, if we develop a habit reading will we become more confident and self assured in abilities to comprehend and understand all types of information. Let's further examine some of the benefits of reading.
One of the other main benefits of reading is that it exercises your mind. Your mind begins to bend and flex mentally, It stays lose and limber so to you can flow easier through the course of the day. The regular routine ensures that the reading muscle stays in good shape as well as the mind. Just like physical exercise, there has to be a determination to make reading part of your life. If you understand the many benefits of reading, you will have no trouble adopting a regular habit of reading.
Reading has other benefits to the regular reader which is the ability to focus. When the mind is trained and channeled, it begins to pay attention more thoroughly.

Reading has many benefits. From a educational point of view reading expands you knowledge on the subject/subjects that you often read about, it expands your vocabulary, teaches you to spell correctly and write the proper way and many more that I can think of right now. But reading is not just about education but also entertainment. Who isn't prone to a flight of fancy, losing yourself in a world that you have no direct access to. Reading stories, whether it be fiction or true life stories, allows you to experience worlds beyound your scope, gives you food for thought, makes you even realize that your life is not so bad, perhaps even terrific. Reading is also great for passing the time when you are waiting at the docter, for your date or wherever.
The shame is that too many young kids these days don't read, or should I rather say, read only what they can from their cellphone. One of my friend's daughter sent me a birthday party invite via sms use sms jargon and I had to read the sms about 6 times before I understood the whole message. The problem is that these youngsters then tend to use that same sms jargon elswhere.
Let me leave you with this question; how can we motivate our children to read more books, even if it is only magazines.

Truthfully, when i was a child during my elementary years i am more active in sports and less reading. My mother usually organize my time, controls and limit with my activities. She usually discplined and train to read pocketbooks. At those times, i am really, really mad at my mother since i did not find reading enjoyable. I never use my imagination when reading i usually fall asleep. Nonetheless, times has passed that i grew day by day a mature child, i learn how to use my imaginations and enjoyed little by little reading books, pocketbooks particularly sci-fi books. Now i am loving it.
