Hey everyone. Just curious as to people's grooming habits:
How long does it usually take you to brush your teeth, and do you scrub your tongue each time? Also, how many times a day do you brush?
I brush my teeth usually once in the morning and once in the evening, so twice a day for me. I ALWAYS scrub my tongue because my mouth doesn't feel clean if I don't. It usually takes me 4 or 5 minutes to brush my teeth. How about you?

Yes. I scrub my tongue too when I brush my teeth. I brush my teeth three times a day. I have a toothbrush and toothpaste in the office and I use them after I eat lunch there. With work in the office dealing with people and co-workers, I make it sure to include my tongue for a fresh feeling and clean smelling mouth. It is a good habit to always scrub the tongue to clean it after eating.

hello bethany,
yes i use to scrub my tongue when brushing, its really advisable doing so,cause our tongue has to be clean to prevent cavities in forming, most food we intake will stick in our tongue and so we need to scrub it when brushing.
I brushed my teeth 3 times a day, every after meals. It takes me 5 minutes or more to brush my teeth.
Happy Lotting..

Well I usually brush my teeth at least twice a day, in the morning and in the evening before I go to bed, but also if I have to leave the house in the afternoon or evening I brush them again because I really hate leaving the house wondering if I have a bad breath or not. Sometimes I use mouthwash before I leave the house.
I often scrub my tongue because otherwise my mouth doesn't feel clean. I brush my teeth for abut 3 minutes, actually I have never paid attention to it so I can't say for sure. The fact is that perception of time variates so sometimes when I just brush my teeth and I am in a hurry it feels that I have been brushing them for 5 minutes although I was maybe brushing for 2 or 3 minutes only. On other occasions it feels that I've been brushing for a minute or two although it has been 5 already.

Yes I do. I brush at least twice or thrice a day. When ever I brush my teeth, I also scrub my tongue. Usually I do this when I am almost finish with my brushing. I think it is also important to do such rather than just concentrating on the teeth alone.

But toungue cleaning is done at regular intervals. But my hubby is lazy, he requires reminders. But he is maintaing good health. May God bless You and have a great time.

I don't know how long it takes me to brush my teeth, I've never thought long enough about it to estimate an actual time. But I do "brush" my tongue every time I brush my teeth. I've been doing that as long as I can remember, back into childhood. I brush my teeth at least three times a day, but if I eat something that makes my mouth just feel "yucky", I'll try to make sure I brush my teeth again, even if I've already brushed several times prior.

I have always brushed my teeth and last brushed my tounge. I think people who dont brush their tounges have a lot of bad breath. I also brush the roof of my mouth. I brush when I wake up and I brush when I go to bed. I also brush again right before leaving the house to go ANYWHERE!

Twice a day, a minimum of two minutes, I at least try to get the tongue once a day, and I occasionally even floss. I'm really lazy about the flossing thing though.

Yes, Beth, I do scrub my tongue when I brush my teeth. My dad taught me this several years ago.. He told me that he brushes his tongue when he brushes his teeth. It makes my mouth feel cleaner and my breath smelling fresher. I even teach my kids to brush their tongues as well. It takes me about 7 to 9 minutes to brush my teeth. I like to make sure that I brush them squeaky clean

Absolutely yes I brush my tongue. I was doing this and my boyfriend asked me what I was doing. I told him I always brush my tongue and he thought that was funny. I thought everyone did this. And to my surprise a lot of people don't. Like you, I can't stand not too. My mouth just doesn't feel clean if I don't. I brush in the morning and at night. But I have been known to skip nighttime sometimes. I know shame on me, and I floss...

hi beth^^;;i do brush my teeth 2-3 times a day. it usually depends where i am and do it atleast 3minutes. i clean my tongue and upper palate by using the toothbrush when i am not at home though needs to be done softly and use the tongue cleaner if i am. it think it's necessary to scrub the tongue so remaining grease from food we eat will be totally removed and avoid bad smell from bacteria thriving in there.

Hi Bethany,
I brush my teeth at least twice a day and have my tongue scrubbed each time, too. It usually takes me 6 to 8 minutes for the whole process. In the interests of personal hygiene, it cannot be omitted. It also shows our politeness and consideration to others, as people do not scrub tongues normally give bad breath. With a clean month, we will have more confidence in our social life.
Have a nice weekend.
Cheers,

I am sorry. There is a typo. It should be "clean mouth". Thank you.

Yup, same here. When I have classes I brush my teeth 2 times a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. But in weekends sometimes I brush 3 times, if I wake up early I'll brush my teeth, after lunch I'll do it again, and before going to sleep. I also brush my tongue because that's also a good place for microorganisms to stay because it's wet, it takes me around 3-4 minutes doing this.

I have to brush my tongue! If I don't, then my mouth does not feel clean! I also brush my upper palate...being that your tongue rests on it, to me it just seems reasonable to to it! Sometimes I don't follow the brush your teeth twice a day rule...sometimes at night, I'm just too lazy to...just being honest! I am an avid flosser though...I always keep a pack of floss picks nearby! It usually takes me about 4 or 5 minutes to brush my teeth.
