Hello, My Lotters,
I am living in China. It is getting more and more difficult to buy a house for young peple. We have to work tens of years to buy a small house. Some people can not even buy a house all his life. Now I would like to do a survey about housing prices all over the world. Would you pls list the city you are living in and how many years of salary you earn equals an ordinary house, say, 150 square meter apartment.
Thank you for your information.

Hello, friend,I happened to work in Germany for half an year this year,I know a little bit about their house price,Most of them live in detached house not apartment, normally, they don't have to buy a house, they can just rent a house because there are many laws to protect the people who rent which the government don't provide in China. They can do something else when they got the money, the average price of apartment in Germany is about 1500 Euros per square meter,of couse, but 80 square meter apartment is larger than 100 square meter in China. The average house price is less than 1500 because it;t larger and you can own the land forever not 70 years, and you can own a very beautiful garden.I lived in the detached house with the landlord when I was in German. The house is more than 100 years old and it still looks very nice, the houses in that community are more than 80 years averagely because their house have good quality it can last long,in China, they

There are too many variables to answer your question. In my town you do not buy an apartment you only rent them. You can buy a townhouse or a condo but not an apartment. However in the big cities like New York you do buy apartments. I think 150 sq. meters is approx. 1600 square feet. Depending on location - you can buy a 1600 sq. foot house, townhouse or condo for between 125,000 and 250,000. A lot of the price difference is due to location. The more bathrooms the higher the price. The more land the higher the price. The newer the home the higher the price. So it's difficult to answer your question because of all the variables involved in home prices in the US.
