I just want to know about your experience. We know that we can find many new kind of models and brands of cellular phones nowadays. People are trying to get the latest gadgets and cellular phones. And if you are a person that like to use the latest model of cellphone, what will you do with your old phone? Did you keep it in your place or you sell it as second hand cellphone? Feel free to share here!

i dont get a new phone til i break my old one so i get really sell it second hand. we never have sold them anyway, if they still work we give them agway or pass them on to the teenagers in the family.
my school has this program though for unused, unwanted and broken phones. you bin them in a special bin to be recycled and for every phone the school collects, it gets $2.50. its a good way of fundraising.

I never heard of that before. What schoool is it? Because I think those kind of fund rasing is great! I really like recycling and fundraising because I believe it can make me a good person. I think that if you do something good, you can get something good at the end. I help people a lot and I dont say no. Well that was bad sometimes cuz someone asked me out and I couldnt say no. I think I was too kind.

I heard of that before. In japan, they have places to drop off old, broken, ruined, etc cell phones. I thought that was very neat because instead of throwing them away, they are used to recycling. Recycling can make you a good person and it can help us save Earth from Global Warming.

It depends! Sometimes I trade them so that my new cellphone will be discounted and sometimes too I give them away to my nieces and nephews. I don't keep old cellphones actually. I want them to go so that it could be service to other people still instead of lying idle in my drawer.

That is very kind of you. I cant remember the first time I wanted cell phones. I was like MOM DAD CAN YOU GET ME A CELL PHONE CUZ MY FRIENDS ALL HAVE ONE. Their answer was no! MY first cell phone was handed to me by my friend because he was moving outof the country for good. I was happy. Late I bought myself a better one.

I would never bother selling an older cell phone as they are never worth that much second hand as there are so many new models coming out all the time. My last two old phones I gave to The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation who are a children's charity that provides direct funding, to families that have sick children. It is a good cause so I do not mind giving the old phones away.

I agree. There isnt much of a point in selling phones. It is better to give it away to help others than getting money. Charity does not come second. Charity is usually the best thing a person can do. I admire you very much.

Usually I buy the latest mobile phone, keep it for two years, and then pass it onto either my cousins or friends. On one occassion I have sold a very flashy one and on another recycled it.

Wow. I heard of those people who buy phone constantly. I am usually jealous. Ive seen a person buy a new one right after they found out that their version wasnt the newest. That happens a lot with ipods..

I have sold them on eBay, but I also regularly turn them in for recycling. I just sent in an old LG EnV that had sticky keys and chrome worn off, they gave me $47 for it. I would have been lucky to get $5 on eBay, plus shipping was paid. If you have a cell phone you would like to recycle for cash, please take a look at my blog (link is in my profile) and look for the post on cell phones. It explains how to go about recycling your old phone for cash.

When I get a new cell phone, I keep the one I replaced as a back up. I have 3 phones right now. You never know when something will happen to your phone and you will need something to take it's place.

i don't have a habit of keeping old things in my apartment so for old mobile phone they end up for those less unfortunate people or sell the spare parts to mobile repair centers..

if the cellphone is in good condition, see if anybody in you family can accept it. such as your old dad, maybe he doesn't mind wether the cellphone is new or not. if nobody need it, try to sell it, maybe you can earn some money from the old one. if it really can't be sold, just throw it into the drawer : )

}I do that with my books. I keep books that I own very neat so it looks like it is brand new. I kept some of my books since I was 5 and ythose books are still clean. It looks better than the new one actually because it is all shiny and it has an alsome book cover..

Now that I think about it, a lot of my old phones end up in a trash or recycling. I update my phone so often that it is hard to keep track. Once the iPhone comes out on Verizon, Im switching lines. Probably keep the same phone unless a better one comes out.

My first cell phone was hand down from my friend. But then it soon broke so I recycled. Did you know you can recycle phones? You can recycle every part of it because it is made of gold, plastic, metal.aluminom, etc. I put it in a drop box at a public library so they can get rid of it for me.

I still have so many old phones I didn't even know I still had I think i'm going to get rid of them maybe in a garage sale or just give them away because if you sell them in a store most places wom't take them anymore.

I usually try to use one cell ohone for atleast a year before giving it to someone or selling it. I am into new gadgets as well , but the only issue is that they are some times so complicated that it take time to learn it and they becomes hard to use. I love my sony anyways :)
