I am the type of person that tends to make my bed when i am about to get into it rather than when i get out of it.My friend tends to get out of the bed every day and has to make it straight away,i used to be like that, but tend not to bother anymore,is it me being lazy.

I do not make the bed up all fancy, but I do throw a comforter over it right away. Soft quilted comforters cover a multitude of stuff up fast and then the bed does not look messy. I don't like the sheets tucked in. When I go to a hotel the first thing I do is pull them out all the way around.

Hubby is still in bed when I leave. He is terrific to spread it up, and make it nice for when I come in and go to bed at night.

I am guilty of that. I was raised in an era when I had to get up and turn around and make my bed, including "hospital corners". It is a habit for me. Now I can't stand to even see an unmade bed cause I feel it is sloppy.

I tend to find that there are alot of people that either make a bed as a thing that they were made to do as a child as well as there are people who do not bother as they were never made to.I was always asked to make my bed so i just slung the covers over the bed, nothing changes.

My bed is a futon. Its covered with a fitted sheet. I have nearby a flat sheet a thin blanket and a heavy blanket. All folded and stacked. The one i cover with depends upon the weather. I usually just spread one of the blankets on top and call it made. I love keeping it simple.

heck no my room a mess everyday you can't even imagine! i try to keep it clean but i have a room mate whose messy and it makes me messy and not want to clean up. so um yeah i don't tend to make my bed everyday that would look hilarious my whole room a mess including my dresser but then you spot the bed and its all nice and neat haha no. i try to at least hang up my clothes on the weekend so on the week days they just sit on my bed and i find a outfit i want to wear that morning. i'm so unorganized i like lose my homework like everyday and find it like a week later and turn it in or when i don't really need it anymore cause i already redo it. it sucks being unorganized because i have to hear my friends tell me and yell at me about how unorganized i am including my mom. but i hate having everything in its place because i can never find it ether. which make things harder to find because i feel like everything hiding from me and i hate being alone. so at least when things are out and messy i can see it often when i don't need it and when i do need it i would remember seeing it in a certain place like on the floor next to the closet. so its weird lol its like i'm not organized but i kinda am it has it only little spot on the floor so i know where to find it.

I totally agree I live in an organised mess! I have a pile of things that are needing to be done, then there is the "whatever" pile which generally just piles up till I have an avalanche and think "right time for recycling!"... I'm not bothered as long as my kitchen and bathroom are clean the rest of the house can do its own thing, if people dont like, then dont come round! I live in a house not a show home! People obsessed with housework just have toooo much time on their hands, how do they do it? I am in awe! I work full time, have not got kids, but 2 woofs one is very very hairy, even so I mange to keep the dust and hair below the skirting board with a weekly blitz! But bed sheets... never really thought bout that before!... how often do normal people change them? I do it every week if i memember... am I obsessive!

Hi, tiffany. You are so like my son. And I may be so like your mother who yells at my son as soon as I tread into his room. He is so disorganized and there are always scatter here and there. I have to go inside his room because he has a bigger clothes cabinet where I hang my clothes which have "overflowed" from my room, lol. I was smiling as I read what you said that you cannot find something if everything is in its place, hahaha. That is so like my son. There were times that I could not longer take it, we cleaned his room and he was mad, lol.

Yes. I do make my bed. But not directly after I wake up. Usually, I make my bed after eating breakfast, when I am routinely cleaning my room which is everyday. I find it sometimes irritating and annoying that my little sister is abusing me because she doesn't arrange the other side of the bed. See, we share a big bed. She always leaves her side unmade and messy. it's up to me to arrange it.

I have worked to make a habit of making the bed every morning. If I don't make it right away, I forget about it until bedtime. I like to walk into a bedroom when I'm tired and see a neatly made bed ready for me and that's why I want to make it - kind of like "I'm worth it."

I want my bed to be neat when I enter my room. So the moment I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is make my bed straight and neat. While going to sleep in the night, I will be lazy. So I just hop on to the bed and go to sleep.

no im sure that you're not the only person not making their bed anymore. i use to make it everyday but it's slowly going away. i'll just get right out of bed and out the door or wherever else in the house. and now since my husband and i have an airbed it's rare that i make it up. cause since we don't have any other furniture we're usually always in our bed so no point in making it up if i'm going to still lie in it.

Yes, I do make my bed everyday. I can't make my bed up just as soon as I get out of it. My husband is still in the bed. I get up around 4 or 5 in the morning. So, I won't be able to make the bed just as soon as I get up. I would love to make the bed up early, but I can't. I hate to see my bed unmade for the entire day. It makes the room look very messy. When the bed is clean, it makes the room appear neat and calm.

So many years of a mom telling you everydays to do your bed has to leave some sequels. Now I live by myself but for some weird reason I still do my bed everydays. Maybe is because there are some stuff I like to leave over the bed and if it`s not properly done I can`t put them in order. Sounds weird, but I have a weird sense of order ;P

LOL I do that too. I mean with me rushing in the morning, I just dont have the luxury of time to make my bed. I dont get to pile up the pillows, fold the blanket and smooth out the bed covers. Im mostly gone for the day and I always keep my bedroom door closed when I go out so no one will be bothered by my laziness, or my latenesses. I am like you also in the sense that I make my bed at night. I mean, when Im about to sleep, Im not comfortable to sleep until I shake out my pillows and my blankets and also pound the bed with my blanket, just to get rid of any possible dust or whatever that might have settled there during the day. I still do that even when Im very tired and just wanna go to sleep. It has been a habit of mine. When Im satisfied that Ive done enough "shaking and pounding", then Ill arrange my pillows, spread out the blanket, then settle in. Then can I have my good night's rest.

Hi Jugsjugs,
When i get out of bed I normally just turn by bed clothes over to air it and then later on I make my bed so by the time I go to bed its nice and aired.

I usually make the bed everymorning as soon as I get up. All I have to do is pull the sheets and the blank up so it doesn't take very long. I like to come my hair out sitting on the bed & looking in the mirror so I make the bed so hair doesn't go everywhere.

If I didn't do some exercises or sit on the bed to get dressed after my shower I probably would not make it either. I live alone so no-one would even know.

Hi Jugs. Yes I tend to make my bed but not as soon as we get up. I usually have some coffee and relax in the morning till about 9am then go and make up the bed. I don't like leaving my bed unmade all day. I think what if my honeys mother comes over and sees the bed unmade. I like keeping a nice house so I don't have to think about it if someone shows up to visit.
