it rained cats and dogs for a week now and i we weren't expecting so much water that it got to the extent of getting in our house especially in the living room. it happened midnight yesterday while all of us are asleep. when we got up, we found out that all our magazines under the table were all wet. i came to check the other appliances and thanked GOD that they're not being wet. it was our first time that water from outside came in.

aw.. sorry to hear that.
It's really hard when something like this happens, my mother's house was flooded half of first floor when a typhoon hit their place, too much work to be done and there's a lot of worry.
Hope everything will be ok soon in your place.

there's pretty much things to do after the flood and it's a nuisance in our work since we need to be absent for the day just to clean the house. As usual life will go now. In comparison to what happens every year in the third world being of storms this wasn't bad at all. That's something to be thankful about.

OMG! What you people must be going thru…it says that when it rains, it really pours and this seems to be the case with you guys. Is this seasonal rainfall you are getting?
I too have never had to experience flooding of any kind thank God…but I’ve heard from people that the worse is when the water recedes, leaving all the dirty scum and germs behind…you really have to clean the house inside out…so a lot more hard work awaits you all. At least the comp was safe and the net too…you can stay connected with us and share your miseries and feel better.

hi flagella,
Geez! Hope everything is okay now, I experienced that too, about three months ago. We got flooded, actually it was like our whole place got sunk from a huge flood caused by two typhoons that hit our country. Most of our appliances got wet including our old pc, sofas, bed, fans, books, magazines, cd's..etc. Thank God we are all fine now, I mean, we got our house renovated and we were able to replace some of our appliances. Hope it will not happen again. hehehe.. because it is really hard...and crazy..
Happy Lotting and stay safe!

i am also met such a situation in my school days when we lived in the down stairs of the housing board after big rain water flooded in to our house and make swim all household items, and we hard to remove the water from the house that could be ever remembered in my mind.

I am sorry to hear that. The same thing happened to us, our house was not entirely flooded. But nevertheless, it was still annoying to wipe all the water away from the house. And worse is to see the things you value the most get soaked with water and be destroyed. Couragely, our neighbor went up to roof, dripping wet with water and checked the drainage and gutter, and found out that dried leaves were covering it. He removed the stupid leaves and then a few minutes later, the water was no longer seeping. I really commiserate my fellow Filipinos who were affected by the recent arrival of storms Ondoy and Pepeng. It was a terrible day to remember. A lot of lessons to be learned from nature's wrath.

So definitely you would have to do something so that next time it won't happen. Speak to your owner if it is a rented house and if it is your own flat then no issue. However, if the landlord does not take any action, do something to prevent it. You can't always rely on the lazy owners.

That sounds ridiculous, some of my friends' house too got flooded, their children can't still go to school because their cabinets in which their clothes are kept were being wet with the rainwater or it has been flooded also. I just thank God that it didn't flood here in our area.

Hi, Flag!
Whoa, a flash flood! That was scary and lucky the rain has stopped and thank God nothing bad has happened. We never have water coming inside the house, but usually when it is raining the whole day, the ground outside our house will be very wet and filled with water. Sometimes I am scared if there are snakes or other reptiles in the muddy water. Have you done with the cleaning yet? Just be careful.

Flood inside the house... that happened to us a month ago... the water went up to 3 feet... We put all are appliances up. That was really a bad experience. I pity others who had a worst experience than us...
