Have you watched the movie Forrest Gump? It's a pretty old movie but still one of the best movies I watched all my life, all because of the actor Tom Hanks. He played very well in the movie indeed. The movie tells about the life of an idiotic person (Forrest Gump). But in the movie, this person became wealthy all because of his ability in running and his innocence and straightforward mind towards others. Starting from how he dealt with his handicapped condition, by running away from bullies until he decided to run his way around the world. The movie itself is very entertaining. I like seeing the innocence in Gump in anything he does.
Do you think such a person exists in the real world?if it does, can you mention a name, well at least a person who has a similar storyline as Gump.

Maybe I am pessimistic, but I really think thar there is no way for a person like Gump will succeed in this real world. But I do like the movie a lot, it is classic, and I have watched it 4 times.

I think there are innumerable people with certain Forrest Gump traits but that no one has all of them. Gump succeeded because he had integrity and kept every promise he ever made. This movie is an insult to anyone who believes that limited ability cannot be overcome with effort and integrity.

I think a person like Forrest Gump does exist in the real world. First of all, I think Gump lives a successful life. And a person can live a successful life no matter he/she is clever or stupid. Clever persons have a happy lifes? Not exactly. I think it depends on whether he/she has a correct purpose of life and whether work hard for it for a long time. Secondly, Gump has willpower, he do everything seriously and insist year after year, no matter war, fish business, running etc. People do have complishments if he/she just focuse his/her effort on one point. May be take me for example, many teachers used to think I could not go to college for my poor science class, but I studied very hard like an ant and finally went to a first class university. And after graduated, many relatives thought I could not find a good job for economic crisis and my major(travel). But I worked very hard with a low salary to studied computer and English for 3 years and eventually got a position in an international company. I truly believe where there is a will, where there is a way. I am not a smart person, so I must work harder than others. And God bless me, give me surprise and miracle, I think it is a big achievement as a person like me. And I strongly believe there are hundres of thousands of person better than me, many "Forrest Gump" exist beside us, thank you all of you to create hope for this world.

nice response LH6915105..
Your life story is pretty interesting. You can be an inspiration to many people. Have you tried writing a blog or something about your life? I think people are more than interested to read what you have been through all these times.
Hope you achieve more than you already have.

When the 1st time I watch this movie, I think it is real story and I really like it.
But I can tell the answer is "no". Just see the fact in real world, is there a person like that?
In the movie seems that God makes him rich without his effort and desire.

I don't think he got wealthy without effort. If it's the desire, then maybe it's true cause he did everything in the movie with sincerity and not hoping for money. But I think the effort is there, as you can see he has outstanding physical talent such as his running talent

I think there is a man out there who is similar to Forrest Gum, but not necessarily exactly like him. No one has the same exact life and I think that depending on the environment, one's character is shaped. I agree that he is very entertaining. Every now and then I still say "Life is like a box of chocolates." I do not know anyone in particular like Gump, but I would jump at the chance of meeting him!

I watched Forrest Gump two years ago. It was impressive. One of my teacher told me that he had watched this movie more than three times and every time after he watched this movie, he had a different feeling towards life. I love this movie. The words are so meaningful. Though I don't think Forrest Gump can be a real person in our society, he also can teach us something, such as persistence. This kind of spirit is so importmant that without it,it would mean a failure whether to a single person or to a company.

There's always an element of honest on Gump and everything he did,in some way, showed the contrast of good and bad. I personally quite like the character in this movie but still i haven't met any person like Gump, even on a book. I do hope there will be more people, handicapped or not, representing the "Gump Spirit".

I totally don't think that there is such a person like Forrest Gump exists in the real world. In real life, handicappeds is impossible to have the lucky chance to gain the things so easily as Forrest Gump does.

Yes, it does exist. People who are inflicted with polio and mild MR are not the reason for them to be successful. It is a matter of being patient.
