some research indicated that in every dose of medicine there is an adverse reaction in out body. the same with vitamins. i was told that the reason children now a days ovulate early because it is probably caused by some growth booster vitamins.apparently, children who at a young age appears taller and shows signs of early growth spurt because of these vitamins. the reason why teens who get pregnant are becoming younger and younger in terms of age. do you have any idea about this our there? or did we share a mutual concern?

This is similar to 'every action has an equal and opposite reaction' in physics. But to a far lesser extent. This is because although pharmaceutical companies promote their vitamin products, the dosages are far too small to have any benefit at all. Often when you take vitamins that were bought from a pharmacy or supermarket without the prescription of a doctor, the dosage is so small that the benefits that you feel are basically the placebo effect. That is why it is said often that vitamins and minerals are only good at producing expensive urine! To achieve the true benefits of these vitamins you must try to have a balanced diet rich in greens and vegetables. The dosage of of vitamins after consuming such a diet for a long period of time is far greater than taking vitamin tables for the same period of time. Having said this, if you consume vitamins prepared by a pharmacist at a strong concentration directed by your doctor, then obviously these will have an effect. However, bottled vitamins from supermarkets are a massive gimmick.

I think that taking vitamins is ok although when it comes to giving them to children then it's probably best to consult the child's gp to get some advice about what would be best. I'm not taking any vitamins right now but I used to take Cod liver oil and I even took these as a young child. I think that vitamins are good in order to supplement a diet that is lacking and I certainly had this problem although I don't have this problem anymore as my diet has much improved. Andrew

Hi alexysabelle... I myself is a mother of a one year old baby girl. I regularly give my child a vitamins, one as multivitamins which I would name as (cherifer) then one for vitamin C, which I sometimes alternate with Zinc Vitamins. Maybe I agree that these could contribute to their early and fast growth even to their mental development. But about the thing that you said the girls who became pregnant are becoming younger and younger that is I would not put on the cause of vitamins. That is a matter of how parents discipline and guide their children, since I myself with my siblings grow with syrup vitamins since birth till high school. We did not have any child on my younger days. I married by the age of 23, the rest of the siblings are not yet.

Zinc should only be taken when your feeling signs of getting sick or when you are already sick. It boosts an immune system when it has ben weakened has has begun to weaken because of an illness. ECHINACEA is one that you want to take regularly, even kids. As always, consult your doctor before giving anything to your kids, or taking anything yourself. :)

Hi alexysbelle, you know all those nutrition facts on the vitaman cans? Vitamin C-5000000%. But does that mean the body takes in all that nutrition though?sometimes, vitamin from the raw material such as apples and oranges are easier on the body. The body sucks in more of the vitamins on fruit than machine manufactured gummy bear vitamins. thank you for discussion.

Yes, these are all good answers about vitamins, and I would also like to add, that in the case of a mal-nutritioned, or sickly person, then it would be a good idea to supplement the regular diet with vitamins and minerals!

Hello alexysabelle this is checkmail and don't think any wrong in giveing vitamins to the childrens.Yeah vitamins are derived from natural resources like the fruits and vegetables and thee are no side effect of it.The subject that matter you is because of lack of awarness among some group of peoples about s.x and family planning or they are some crazy teens. You can't blame the products of mother nature for it, but should thank you it by adding to the nature by saving environment. And growth is an natural factor in everybody's life and only steriods are meaned to be boosters and not natural vitamin suppliments.Hope you got you thought cleared.

Self medicating is not a good thing. Some parents just will buy anything in the pharmacy and feed their kids with it. Usually vitamin treatments are supposed for a range between a month and three, and nobody should eat them for longer than that time, as it has bad effects on the body. If we think of buying vitamins for our kids, it's better to ask to the person in the pharmacy, as they know exactly what's right and wrong in the use of them.
