Gambhir to miss the third test . who will open the innings with sehwag??

opener Gautam Gambhir will miss 3rd Test against Sri Lanka due to his sister's wedding while rest of the team is the same ,according to a BCCI press release on Friday. Gambhir is in very good form he has scored very good runs in hyis very recent matches . who will open the innings for india with sehwag?

i think someone who can stand in the crease for long time with patience needs to open with sehwag.sachin sehwag combination is an experienced one.But along with veeru's fireworks(hope he will )i think Rahul Dravid or VVS Laxman will be a good coice

hmm he is a very important part of the team now and that also in the opening. i hope this will not make a big difference to the series. i mean if india loose the match then we are done for.

It is a big-big blow for india as Gautam is in good form and right now india doesn't have any other option for it.
May be they can try Dinesh kartick or Vijay but i am not sure.

Hi!!
In a similar discussion related to this topic a mylot user had said that Murli Vijay has been selected to open the innings along with Sehwag.It is a big blow for the team as Gambhir was in the form of his life and scoring 4 centuries back to back is no small a feat.India will surely miss him but I think Murli Vijay has got a chance to prove himself and he wouldn't like to miss this golden opportunity.I just pray that India won't miss Gambhir and M Vijay puts up a decent show and India win the match.
