Why do women live longer than men?

I don't have any idea on why women live longer than men. I go on some of your explanation...have a nice day!

women r made to be stronger and tolerate more crap because of Eve's sin to tempt Adam to eat an apple from the tree. Adam was weak. so, that is why women have to suffer with menstrual cycle, giving birth, menopause, etc, while men dont think much. women do all the work and thinking.

generally speaking, woman is shorter than man. so their hearts' burden is lighter than men's. that's one of the important reasons.

Women outliving men may not be the case for much longer. As women have moved into the work place and face the same pressures as men, plus being called upon to keep the home fires burning, too, incidents of heart attacks are on the rise at earlier ages. Men, on the other hand, have been told over the last several years that they should give up the reins of power and some are even house husbands now. Their incidents of heart attacks is decreasing as they relax more. In families where men and women work together without defining areas, life seems to be easier and the participants healthier. Even when people exercise and eat right, they may still be prone to strokes and heart attacks if they push themselves too hard.

Its because always men has to pay the bill, which might lead to heart attacks.. :)

I think the main reason why women live longer than men is because they do not block their feelings. I have always learned that it is bad for a man to cry no matter how much he hurts. As a therapist myself, I know that this is not a good way to be as it puts stress on the heart and nervous system, which research has shown, also effects the immune system in a negative way. - Derek

Dear friend, That is really interesting information, May be it would be better to marry a women elder. May be a women could marry some who is younger. Even though these are happens very rarely.

accross the industrialized world, women outive men to 5 to 10 years and i think the reason is the delay and advantage women have over men in terms of cardiovascular diseases, like heart attack and stroke, women develop these problems usually in 70's or 80's about 10 years laten tha men, who developt them in their 50's or 60's..

hi ,the reason why do women live longer than men ,i think just becasue the women few pressure than men .men have to support family and many women neen't need to working ,just at home ,do things what they like to do ,you know ,have a good mood and few pressure is important for your health

all the facts mentioned by you my dear friend is quite true. .. but one thing i like to add that men are borne to make a woman happy my every means ... feeding them , kidding them ,, and lastly taking all the outside stresses on one head.. that do matter in shortening the life cycle...

Hi vijayanths, I have known for some time that women live longer than men but have never known why. There is no doubt but that crying is important in relieving stress, and women do cry easier then men. I wonder if we will see a change now that it is more socially acceptable for men to cry, in many cases it is stressed that men should cry. I agree that women often live for many years after their husbands, but many men just seem to give up after they lose their. Perhaps that too may soon change. Blessings.

One thing is that women bleed more often. hehehe!women live better than men because we have a way of expressing our emotional problems than men, men tend to be masculine for they pretend that they were not affected with whatever that is bothering them emotionally. Women are more vocal & we can cry our heart out if we want to.

i think the woman live longer because of the cleanliness to their self than to man,one factor of that is woman is not abbusing their body like drinking,smoking,eating fatty foods.
