I tend to memorise as many as I can, at least the important ones. And these days I am not saving the numbers also. Trying to remember by typing the numbers. It works for me. How do you remember important dates ? Scribble on a calendar, electronic media, mobile reminders, online reminders??

ToodleDo was the first task list that could talk to my smart phone. I could e-mail appointments to it and I e-mailed me back reminders. Recently, however, I stopped using ToodleDo in favor of a more expensive, but much more powerful service called GTDagenda which needless to say, I have also blogged about: http://www.drann.us/anns_aerogarden_updates/2009/11/my-plant-planner.html

My wife does the remembering for me.I firmly believe that the dates may get confused and jumbled if two people try to remember them.

I think i need to put bill reminders on mine. Most bills i remember but i have one that comes in the middle of the month. I can never remember that one. Sometimes i end up having to pay a late fee.

I keep a diary/yearly planner for remembering dates as I am hopeless at remembering birthdays and things that have to be done on a certain date. I check it at the start of each week when I turn to a new page and if there are things later in the week that I need to tend to, then I am aware early in the week and I usually remember. But even with doing that, I still forget from time to time!

I think we all do, even after making sure that we do not. Sometimes we are so confident that we won't forget that we over estimate ourselves only to remember the day after the occasions passes.

Hi Mimpi, I have two separate planner and a back up planner in the house. The first planner focus on all my official schedules --trainings, meetings, trips. The second planner focused on my loved ones and friends birthdays and anniversaries. The planner at home is a combination of all the dates so that everyone is aware about all the important dates. I am good in memorizing special dates and events in the family.

Hi Mimpi. I went to freeware files dot com and downloaded sticky notes to my computer and put the important dates on them and set them to wake up when it is time for something important to happen. I can't remember anything any more. I have to have them written down on something. I have calendars all over the house with dates written on them too.

hi mimpi 1911! when i was younger i could easily remember dates. nowadays, thanks to high tech, i can mark it on my cellphone calendar and i make sure that i get an alert at least a day before. that way i would have time to prepare - like i could get a present if it's somebody's birthday, etc. social networks are great too. they remind you of your friends' important dates ahead and you get to send them an e-card on time.

That depends really. What kind of important dates? I mean is it a date like those in history books? Dates that something significant has happened to the world or to your community that you were able to witness? Or is it the kind of date where something valuable and important happened in your life? If its one of those history books or a date that society has encountered, then Im not good in memorizing those. If it was the kind of date that something significant happened in my life then I do remember them. I remember birthdays of the people that I hold dear. I remember the events that happened on special occasions when its just usually a normal day for me. I guess I remember dates more clearly when there is a memory attached to that date. Cause otherwise my subconscious would just bury it somewhere that Ill forget about it that easy. Hope I made sense somehow with that post.^_^

I wonder who likes to remember the dates from history! Having said that, I still remember the important dates, in fact a lot of them still now. The quiz shows on TV come to my memory shunning. Coming to remembering personal dates and phone numbers, I make sure to remember and I do actually. I feel something you want to remember you CAN and the things we do not, we forget. I appreciate your way to remember the dates. We all derive at some kinda method that helps us remember stuffs.

Have you ever watched the show "Jeopardy!"? I find it quite fascinating that there are people who know all these trivia about random stuff from exact dates to unknown people. I guess its just their hobby. Persona dates do stay with us somehow, even when we sometimes seemingly forget.

Important dates within the family i still can remember by heart. Important dates among friends and relatives i do try to remember in my mind but write them too in my small notebook just to be sure, because there are days now that i just tend to forget some things that have to do and remember, i guess it comes with age.

I have a really bad memory, so I try to keep memos in different places to remember the important dates. Well, more exactly to be reminded of them. Usually I write down important dates in my desk calendar, in my pocket agenda, and I make an alarm in my cell phone too.

Hey mimip! If I don't write things down I will never remember anything! I have appointment books and reminders on my desk! I write my appointments in my appointment calendar. I have one on my desk and I copy it and keep one with me in my handbag! The problem I have is I also tend to write myself notes on sticky pads and still forget to look at them!lol

I'm not good remembering important dates, so I use my mobile phone as a reminder and set it with alarm. The problem keeping them in the mobile phone is when you lost it or the phone gets broken. I read the number 14 response and I think I'll start to save them in yahoo calendar, and thanks to your discussions because I've got some idea how/where to save important dates.

Good point there! Practically that's not the case and forgetting some important dates doesn't make you a person who doesn't care.

The way that I remember important dates, such as friends' birthdays or major holidays, is I write them down. I scribble a date down somewhere in a notebook. Sometimes I like to make it more visual, so I get a calendar and write in huge bold letters and make it decorative so it stands out when I'm on that month. This is how I tend to remember a majority of my friends' birthdays because I look over the same date every year (sometimes a lot more than that each year) and it gets 'engraved' into my memory. I hope this helped a little. PS I also use cell phone reminders to help remind me when my next big important event is.

I agree, seeing makes it stay in our memory for a long time. I save the birth dates together with the number so that whenever I get a call from that number the dates flash.
